Forest is a historic club. That red jersey would look good on him. :)

Similar thing happening to a Brazilian player who is joining Forest in January. Forest and Olympiakos are owned by the same person and the player, Scarpa, will be going to Forest but has a clause in the contract that allows them to move him to Olympiakos for 6 months in 2023 if they qualify for the Champions League.

So there seems to be some juggling of assets between the two teams to help the Greek side make the CL while of course they also want their English side to stay in the PL if possible.

Yeah, I think they are trying to get Olympiakos in the Champion's League.

Nottingham Forest are reportedly close to signing Hwang Ui-jo from Bordeaux. However, he is not going to be a regular starter at the club.

The newly promoted side are signing him despite the links of West Ham United. However, nothing came out of the West Ham United offer

NOTTINGHAM FOREST AND HWANG UI-JO TRANSFER LINKS FULL STORY
According to reports, Nottingham Forest are going to sign Hwang Ui-jo from Bordeaux. They have been the busiest Premier League side this summer. The club have made 12 signings this summer. However, they have no intentions of concluding it with 12. If things go to plan the newly promoted side are looking to add more quality players to the club.

Bordeaux suffered relegation from Ligue1. It was clear that many players would leave the club. It looks like Hwang was definitely going to be one of them. He was one of the only positives for the french clubs last season. Although, it looks like Nottingham Forest will prise him away from the club. It looks like the deal will go through in a few days.

WEST HAM UNITED WERE ALSO REPORTEDLY INTERESTED IN THE STRIKER
Just last month, the striker had spoken that he had received offers from West Ham United. He also said, “I am waiting, nothing is decided yet. There will be more details to give you depending on the financial situation of the team, of Bordeaux. It is true that offers have arrived from FC Nantes and West Ham United as well.”

However, nothing came out of the West Ham offer. Nevertheless, West Ham later signed Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo. Whereas Hwang will now join Nottingham Forest this summer. The Premier League club will reportedly pay £3.4 million with a further £800,000 in add-ons. He is also going to have his medical in a few days.

Hwang is described as a striker who is unplayable on his day. The striker managed to score 11 goals in Ligue 1 last season. That is an exceptional return as Bordeaux were awful last season in attack. All in all, he is going to surprise a lot of people at Nottingham Forest.

According to L’Équipe, Bordeaux striker Hwang Ui-Jo is not keen on Nottingham Forest’s proposal to buy the player and send him out on loan to Greek side Olympiacos (who share the same owner as the reds). Negotiations are still ongoing between Forest and the Girondins.

Whilst Brest are the only French side that is interested in the Bordeaux striker, Wolverhampton and most recently Nottingham Forest are the two English clubs which are chasing the Korean’s signature.

L’Équipe reported earlier this week that Nottingham Forest have submitted a bid for Bordeaux striker Hwang Ui-jo, joining Wolves among the Premier League sides looking to sign the South Korea international.

The bid consists of a €4m initial fee along with an extra €1m in potential add-ons, which the Marine et Blanc have accepted. Wolves had last week offered €3m, which was deemed to be insufficient by the club. Bordeaux are nevertheless looking to sell to raise funds to register signings, following financial restrictions imposed on them by the DNCG, French football’s financial watchdog, having narrowly avoided further relegation.

Fulham are also looking to bring in the 29-year-old, although the London club have yet to put an offer on the table unlike their competitors for the forward’s signing.

Hwang himself is keen on a move to the Premier League, having pushed back offers to stay in France – Brest and Nantes – in the wake of Bordeaux’s relegation to Ligue 2 at the end of last season. Over the course of his three seasons in France, he has 29 goals in just under a century of appearances.

He rejected the offer I believe. He said that he doesn't want to go to Nottingham only to be loaned off to Olympiacos. Last I read, he's only eyeing the PL, perhaps he wants Wolves where Hwang Hee-chan is.

Wolves are probably the best option for him.

Hwang Ui Jo and Bordeaux are in the midst of a ‘showdown’ with the striker hoping to seal a move to Nottingham Forest’s Premier League rivals Wolves before the September transfer deadline, French reporter Clement Carpentier tells Girondins 4 Ever.

Bordeaux, cash-strapped and relegated, are not going to keep Hwang at the Matmut Atlantique against his will. After all, the £3.5 million they could earn from the South Korean’s sale would come in very handy, as the former Ligue 1 champions prepare themselves for a promotion challenge.

With the Wolves, he and HHC will just compete with each other for playing time. I wish he would just sign with NF and play with Olympiakos this season so that and he can build a good rapport with HIB in prep for the WC. We gonna need all that we could get from the Three Hwangs.

Neto might be gone. It will open up more space for other players.

I understand he is little dissapointed. Of course he wants EPL. But Olympiacos for a season its no the worth thing in the world. Hope they reach EL also.

If this man scores in the WC I will be shocked. 0 chemistry with Son despite all this time playing together. At least he is in his prime
