Sneijder having a very forgettable game.....we should be looking for a quick release once the ball is turned over.....instead....we are either clearing to the stands or killing the pace

Yeah, oke, there is no football going on. Sneijder is marked out of the game. That is a theme going on since quite some games now. Belgium did the same and many other, so we should have a solution for that. That having said, Sneijder has no excuse for the amount of mistakes he makes. Clasie is not bad, but I simply expect more from him. Defense is not bad, though Vlaar should have won that final head confrontation in the final minute. BMI and Vlaar and van Rhijn are oke. Willems was good. Maybe the best man on the field. Strootman is no football again. Strootman is intervention minded. Where is his football? Clasie medicore in football, oke in interventions (apart from stupid penalty). Sneijder bad, but makes the pass for the 2-1. RVP is not bad. Maybe oke to good. Lens is also in the middle. Had some good action, could have done better on some moments. Narsingh made the cross for the goal, but other than the combination with RVP he has not been really successful delivering good crosses.

What I miss is total control. We can't string more than 4 to 5 passes together. BMI takes to many time at the back. 1 thing I realized is the following. If your pass is hard and tight, the field that has many bumps can jump up right before control and create dangerous situation. maybe that is why the passing is a bit soft from time to time.

Midfield gets overrun because we haven't got the players for a 4-3-3. It really is that simple. A traditional Dutch 4-3-3 can only be played when you've got a squad full of specialists in their position. Wingers notably.

While frankly I hope to god that Fer never gets called up again (for obvious reasons), it is so blatantly obvious that we need a box to box midfielder. Without it, this 4-3-3 will never work (and even with it, I don't think it'll ever work against a quality opponent to be honest).

Finally that forward pressing after a bad pass from Clasie self. That is what I am after. That immediate pressure and offering no time to the opponent. Well done Clasie, too bad his shot went over. Corner. More please.

GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGooooooooooooolazo. Sneijder tight pass cross the field, intervention that ends in Lens's feet and he is cool in his finishing. 3-1.

    Game on.
