want out of Newcastle: Viana July 14, 2004 LISBON (AFP) - Newcastle United's Portuguese midfielder Hugo Viana, who has been linked recently to European club champions FC Porto, has repeated his desire to leave the Magpies. "I don't like being here. I don't feel well at Newcastle," he told Portuguese daily 24Horas on Wednesday. "I want to leave, but always with the agreement of those in charge at Newcastle. I am willing to go to any team in the world," he added. Newcastle signed left-footed Viana for 8.5 million pounds (12.8 million, 15.8 million dollars) from Lisbon-based Sporting in July 2002 but after two disappointing seasons at St James's Park the Portugal international has failed to earn a regular spot in coach Bobby Robson's side. "Since last season I have shown my desire not to stay at the club. I just want to play," Viana added. In December Viana said he had agreed to take a 60 percent salary cut in order to return to his former club Sporting, and was on the verge of signing a loan agreement with the Portuguese side but Robson scuttled the move at the last minute. Robson, who has coached Portuguese giants Sporting and FC Porto in the past, said at the time that Newcastle had too many injured players at the moment and could not afford to lose Viana as well.
