People think that just because Hugo is optimistic and only talks about winning, then he is an example to follow for all Mexicans, and this couldn't be farther from the truth. Lack of humility and delusion are not outstanding characteristics that we should follow. In reality, Hugo has the epitome of a tercermundista mindset. Instead of admitting responsibility for the national team's predicaments, he blames someone else in order to not have to admit fault, not have to learn from his mistakes and proceed in his same flawed mindset. But just because he is positive and delirious, people say that you shouldn't put him down. Now that I think about it, I shouldn't be too surprised since, after all, almost 50% of Mexicans voted for AMLO and his delirious, unfounded and tercermundista mindset.

Even though I believe putting him down doesn't achieve anything either, I do quite agree with your posts. People just need to realize that being optimistic isn't the same as being in total control of your mind and analyzing the possible outcome and being prepared for it. We'll see if Hugo can pull through.
Re: Hugo Sanchez (Tecnico) at Almeria Any Mexican player has a lot to look forward to I see. Had great skill? He is the greatest Mexican player to ever lace up a pair of boots. He did put his foot in his mouth, I don't think anyone can deny that but the truth is that people don't like him because of his personality and not because of what he produced on the field. He had a 70% win percentage in his year and a half as DT in official games. I'm not saying that he's a coaching god, but had Sven been Mexican we'd be calling for his head after the team's performance in the qualifiers so far. Have we ever had a Mexican coach that we've allowed to complete one full four year cycle with the team?
