Huge forum to be set for possibly next week!

is anyone planning on going to the forum tonight? any ideas what topics will be covered and/or whether anything will be resolved?

 

The forum is to ask the coach and team questions about the season not crybabies within the groups...I would say leave the forum for legitimate topics and if ppl wanna talk afterwards about issues then cool. Know what i mean?

 

I really hope this is the case. I want the FO clarifying their stance from the MLS stance on a few things, but this is not the place for intra nordeke stuff.

 

I'm sure Sigi will talk specifically about all the foreign players he, Bliss, and McCullers are looking at abroad, who our potential DPs are and what kind of money the Crew are offering, who the starting line up for Thursday will be and why he chose them. Then, Sigi will layout his plan for a three forward system. Then, what they think of other coaches in MLS and what he thinks of Don Garber. Then, the focus will turn to the intricate details of the Pat Noonan deal, the McBride deal, and the Ruiz deal. This will be followed by a photo slide show of all the undercover security officers who sit/stand in and around the supporter's section. Then soda and snacks.

 

i know exactly what you mean. i was hoping that it was going to be that type of forum and not a bunch of people saying "HSH people are mean to me" or "LTA plays their drums too loud." whiney people suck.

what issues? the nigerian striker? why we can't get noonan? or are youthinking more about smokebombs and streamers? because i think that issue is as dead as it can get: no smokebombs, no streamers on the field during play. right?

 

So that's why no one is going. They'd get more people if they served punch and pie.

 

Define during play. That's what I want to hear. Not getting escorted out of a friendly for throwing a streamer while play is stopped for an injury. That's my beef for McCullers tonight.

 

dude, in your case, security screwed the pooch. i'd be willing to bet that mccullers tells you that you shouldn't have been thrown out for throwing a streamer at that time.

however, (and i'm too lazy to go and find it but) didn't you say that the streamers you and your lady friend threw went in the direction of a security guard? if i was him and i thought some kid was throwing streamers at me i'd have thrown you out too. you got what you deserved - own it.

 

I don't think it will be possible to not throw a streamer in the vacinity of, or general direction of, a stadium official of some sort.

If that's what they're saying, they're effectively banning them, in which case they should just do so.

Obviously, one can just plain not throw a streamer, but I doubt one can throw one that could not be considered in "the direction of a security guard"

 

well then you have 2 choices: throw a streamer or three and risk it, or just cheer without the streamers. you pick.

i mean seriously, does the amount of streamers thrown indicate your level of commitment to the club? will they ever win again if you don't throw streamers? was soccer even fun before streamers?

 

Considering I have yet to throw a streamer at any sporting event, I don't think it will affect the club if I don't throw a streamer at future crew games.

However the constant back and forth over what's allowed, with the team seemingly saying that they're just complying with league mandate, while the league seems more lax with other teams, is something that apparently needs to be dealt with.

I don't know eboe, but he hardly seems the type to do it just to spite the FO. Nor does he seem like the type who will hate going to games if he's not allowed to throw streamers. I truly believe he felt he was throwing a streamer within the bounds as to what had been laid out as acceptable.

Having said that, I have not attended any of these meetings, but I'm also not a johny-come-lately that doesn't keep abreast of what's going on with the crew. At the very least Eboe desearves an answer, and honestly he should have gotten one prior to this.

i agree, an answer is needed. but was it not given when the league said "don't throw anything other than streamers and don't thrown streamers when it interrupts play." can we throw streamers after goals? yes. can we throw streamers during corners? probably not. can we throw streamers within the Nordecke? certainly.

if i had to have one question answered it would be the issue of corner kicks, but i think that's a question for don garber and not sigi. sigi can tell you when is the right time to sub a striker for a defender, but not when the best time to throw a streamer is. but if you want to ask him, i won't stop you, i'll just snicker.
