After a disappointing result at Manchester City, the Arsenal travel to Huddersfield for their 2nd of 3 consecutive away matches across all competitions. Huddersfield are coming off a 5-0 throttling by Chelsea, hopefully Emery and the boys will be able to bring the same amount of pain and draw level with Chelsea in the table (who will face City on Sunday). Game to be televised in the US on CNBC at 10:00am ET, 7:00am PT. COYG!!!
Only Aston Villa in 2014-15 (12) have scored fewer goals after 25 games of a Premier League campaign than Huddersfield (13) have netted so far this season. https://t.co/hAieFg3Cno— Orbinho (@Orbinho) February 8, 2019 The movable object versus the stoppable force
In the training photos from today, I saw no evidence of Xhaka. But I did see Mkhi, AMN & Mustafi. If he goes with 2 at back, I'd like Emery to take the bold step of choosing Kos & Mavro. And if he's worried about what that does to Mustafi's confidence, slide him out to RB where he used to play supposedly. If he goes with a back 3 then it's a little less clear what happens with Mustafi. On paper, we should wipe the floor with Huddersfield. But who really expects us to do that? Any old 3 points will do. Edit: On the home page I just noticed a nice video of training today (or yesterday?). Usually it's just stills they release. Found this fun to watch. https://www.arsenal.com/#
THAT scenario is gonna change tomorrow morning, however I'm not gonna be as bold as Joe Namath in Super Bowl III (or Mark Messier of the New York Rangers in Game 6 of the 1994 Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Finals at New Jersey) and guarantee it. Nothing has been a guarantee for us this season.
Arsenal: Leno, Maitland-Niles, Koscielny, Mustafi, Monreal, Kolasinac, Torreira, Guendouzi, Mkhitaryan, Iwobi, Lacazette Subs: Cech, Elneny, Lichtsteiner, Suarez, Mavropanos, Nketiah, Willock So, Willock and Elneny are in the squad over Ozil and Ramsey. Europa league I guess?
Yup, Alex looks like he's got something to prove today. He deserves that goal. Even if it had a bit of luck to it.
No real shape to the Gunners at the moment, and it's hurting their ability to retain possession. Mikhi looking good.
39' Ooh. Good run up right as Mikhi sends AMN off, gets it back but the shot is ultimately meek. Good chance tho.
