...and for those into kit talk http://soccerblog.dallasnews.com/2015/08/the-hoops-fc-dallas-deserves.html/
Love the proposed jersey!!! Can you post it on this forum as well? I would really like it with 100% white shorts and red socks.
That is greatness. I signed the petition and added I would be willing to do a deposit if they need to know hoe seriously I like it. Add white shorts and red and blue socks and it maybe best in league history. That Advocare logo is so classy on the jerseys. Can we petition them also to keep using that one. Maybe promise to give their stuff a try. BTW, why don't they have samples at the games?
I'll be a dissenting voice here. That puts a hurtin' on my vision. I prefer the two-tone all-red that we have now. But the most horrible thing about the jersey is going to continue to be the Advocare logo as long as it is there and so frigging huge.
I signed it. I haven't bought an FCD jersey in years. I'd buy that one. If they keep the plain red jerseys, I'll go out and buy a plain red t-shirt and iron on an FCD badge. Why would I pay $70 for a plain red shirt with a big giant ad for some company I don't give a flip about? The red and blue hoops are distinctive, unlike the plain red.
My thoughts exactly. Our current home kits are about as bland as it gets...not to mention unoriginal since we are exactly the same as Toronto. Keep the current aways (best kit in MLS imo, esp w/white shorts+socks) and use this mockup as the new home (w/white shorts+bumblebee red/blue socks). And FFS let's use the cleaner logo as opposed to the current disaster no matter what!
All I'll say about that huge Advocare logo that pops out at you and so on and so forth... That's what Advocare is paying for, no? Now, you can say that you're not willing to pay for a shirt with that logo on it, and that's cool and all. But at the end of the day, that logo is working exactly as designed, whether we like it or not.
I don't really care for this one either, but I came across this and thought it might be relevant to the uniform musings going on here: https://www.behance.net/gallery/28660753/MLS-Concepts It's just some designer playing around, I don't think it has any reality behind it, but it's a different take on the FC Dallas uniform than we've seen before. All of these experiments with blue are convincing me that I like sticking to red and white.
Agree. Three or four thing's worse than before. Let's talk them up here and the other places to see what shakes out. It seems every couple of years things are going in the right direction and the FO can't stand it and stamps it out. This is the reason for mediocre attendance not the location.
So I've concluded that I cannot objectively look at a new FCD kit while it has that stupid 'A' in a tidal wave/cyclone on the front...otherwise I may have thought this version of the USMNT-like kit was decent. Maybe it's the Inter fan in me, but those SJ shirts are sweeeeet....
Well, since you won't buy the kit... BAM! Have a higher ticket price b****! That's what a H brother just thought.
D'oh! Looks like Barca beat us to the red and blue hoops. Saw a guy wearing this shirt in New Orleans over the weekend. http://worldsoccertalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/BarcaKit.jpg
Exactly. Supporters' and soccer culture is endemic to the sport - it naturally grows when a professional team exists. Especially in the US where you now have an awareness of it, primed by a similar experience with college football and basketball. Add to that the Olympic competitiveness US fans feel about any sport, and you have the underlying conditions ripe for a team to succeed. It takes real effort - or a major lack of awareness - to not have what you see in most MLS venues now.
Is this the subtle onset of the Bouncehaus II Offensive Campaign? I think the stubborn, steady, and incremental eradication of the SG's and their ilk is getting harder and harder to deny. But, he who bounces last, bounces best. And, I don't think the Group has any idea of what getting bounced is going to do to their eventual bottom line. No kid is going to want to be a part of a lame sterile environment. Any of the old timers remember just how easy it was to get the Hispanics flocking back in droves after the Great Bleaching Campaign at Southlake? It will be fun to watch the self-inflicted wounds fester.
At the FSA coaches meeting last night, the FC Dallas FSA Ticket Rep Toby Rochau said that there was big stadium news to come in the next 3 weeks when he was encouraging people to buy season tickets.
If true they need to change their wording. Say big news is coming that will make you want to buy season tickets not buy them now because of some cryptic reason.
If its the Soccer Hall of Fame - yawn. Roof -semi-yawn. Hunt ownership - MLS v.1 New norm MLS v.3 (Steve Davis shoutout) Mediocrity is our future.
I had totally forgot about the Hall of Fame rumors. While cool, nothing too exciting and I can see that being this "super cool stadium project" they're talking about. Now, if they said they're demolishing the stage roof, adding a cool looking roof around most of the stadium, and finally painting the seats to have our name on them, that's another story.
Exactly...would love to see how many investors a business could get by asking for money based on upcoming 'big news'. May be a funny Shark Tank episode actually...
