Howard made a great save a little earlier off a shot from Sears, I believe, which he managed to tip off the bar and out for a corner.
He apparently returned to full training this week Lescott ties in 80th and then Saha makes it 2-1 Everton!
The Tim Howard of last season is back. He and the defence seem to have gotten over their collective brain farts, and Timmy is pulling off some wonder saves. What is it with America and goalkeepers? Brad Guzan looks shit hot too.
I'm glad to hear that about Timmy. And thanks for the compliment of Guzan as well; he looked good in UEFA Cup action earlier this week.
Most of our kids grow up playing some sport that involves hand eye cordination which may be the reason we've got so many quality keepers. Yeah Myhill is a Yank but I think he's Welsh as well.
It's not the hand-eye thing - El Guzano's hands are just OK and Keller's never been as soft as Jens Lehmann's, for example. But the Yanks are big and athletic and training a GK is pretty similar in most leagues. Plus, the Chivas US GK coach Leo Percovich is an experienced international pro and has done well with all of his charges.
American sports have alot to do with it. Timmy even said so in the past crediting basketball for helping him to be a better keeper. No link (do your own research).
