Hey Mike, new to posting, but I long time reader of these boards. Give me a yeah or nay on this. Did you play with the US at Randalls Isalnd in 76 or 77 vs Peru in a 4 team tourney. You won 2-1. I believe Gary Ethrington was one of the goal scorers. Have a team photo and I have more than half the guys pegged. Not you. I was a ballboy. Man U moved quite a few players out on loan prior to the window closing....Cooper not one of them....I think they will give him a long look prior to the end of the year....the new ownership is cost cutting at every turn (laid of 5% of the front office staff with a further 5% soon to go)...the reason they off loaded a lot of staff and players (cuts and loans) was to reduce payroll...wouldn't suprise me if they got rid of the reserve team all together within the next three years.,...kept a 1st team squad of 25 or so and then relied on the u19 academy team.....
There was grass on all 4 corners of that field. Luxury, sweet luxury. Just think about what we were playing on as 8, 10, 12 and 14 year olds if we thought that field was good. We actually played in one place in Red Hook, Brooklyn that had two sewers right on the field! Full plates, drainage system and everything. It's a wonder any kids from NY played the game back then. No place to play. Thanks for the info on the Man U set up. Glazers are going to work it seems. Can't wait to see this kid (KC) play. Oh, and england66, as long as posters are sharing personal anecdotes, I was on the field with you once in Dallas when my youth team got to go out during the pre-game and national anthem. Surely you remember me? Saw you and Cooper, Sr. play a bunch back then, too. Fun times! Now, to get on topic, I suspect we'll see Cooper, as well as Howard and Rossi, with the "first" team when the League Cup begins for ManU. Sure would be nice to see a good run in the League Cup that gave these three some competitive minutes.
