This may sound like a stupid question but i was wondering how you people measure/determine the perfect fit length wise on boots (e.g. how many cm from your longest toe to the tip of the boot or as alot of people do 1 thumb widths space between your big/longest toe to the end of the boot) however everyones thumbs are different!!)

if there isnt sufficient speace between the end of the boots and your toes u can get blisters and bruised toes and also in my mates case hsi toes banged into the tip of the boot so much he wore throguh the front tip of his Puma KSLs

i know the width of the boot is also important to the overall fit of the boot

but for this questions sake can you please share your rule of thumb (excuse the pun)of what you think is the sufficient space between your toes and the end of your boots
    cheers

i find that because i had wider feet, i usually have to get boots that are a little longer than i would like. i usually have a bit at the end of the shoe, i can kick the ball straight on with my toe, and it doesnt hurt at all

I bought my last boots so, that there is almost no space between my toe and the end of a shoe. I have to put a smooth thick athletic tape on my right toe and then I tie it up with an ordinary athletic tape for more rigitity. May be this is a foolish way but I reckon when there's too much space your toe shots might become weaker + see what ewu16 wrote. Well speaking about the width of boot make sure it fit tightly.

my boots will ever so slightly come over the edge of the sole..i like them REALLY tight...imo defeats the purpose if you don't get full stretching out of k-leather shoes (which i almost exclusively wear).

I'm like CrespoFan - I have wide feet so I'm used to having a bit of extra room in terms of length. My heel never really slipped in my Umbro Specialis - it occasionally does in my F50s but now that I use the comfort inner sole (which is thicker) I don't get that. My F50s are tighter than the Specialis but not uncomfortably so - it just feels like wearing a sock.

In the middle of my boot (in line with the laces) I have between 1.5 and 2cm. It's a bit less by my big toe, and much less around my little toe. It's a bit more than I'd like but I don't really notice it.

I’m wearing my boots really snug this year no space at all at the front there k leather so they will stretch i usually wear a 9.5 and after a few games they stretch and are too loose so I have gone down to 9's and hope to stretch to the perfect fit within a few games.
