    Not trying to argue against Benzema. He's twice the player Giroud could ever be. For club football.

    A share of Benzema's international matches have been as a teenager getting early looks at international team life at 20 years old, while Giroud made his debut for France at age 25, having played no matches for the U16-21 teams.

    Benzema has arguably been banned from the national team during a good part of his peak as a player.

    This is a stupid debate. Benzema is a much better player than Giroud.

    I feel that Benzema has paid his price for what he did and should be given another chance with his NT

    France fielded a practically retired player just to not call up Benzema. I think the entire thing lacked closure because France officials were basically attacking him then saying he lacks quality when he isn't getting called up.

    It's a farce.

    I actually haven't been in any of those "debates" and frankly couldn't care less because I think we all have much bigger crap to worry about, so talk about being obtuse to someone's attempt to lighten the mood. Enjoy whatever you choose to eat, and stay safe! :)

    Benzema comment about the "Formula 1 and Go-Kart" comparison is way overblown and it's taken completely out of context.

    - Benzema also said that in the context of France National Team, players like Giroud are valuable & bring a lot. He mentioned that you can't play 3 attacking midfielders in the midfield for example even if they're clearly the best players, you need someone who does the job of recovering balls. Giroud does a job for France who are blessed to have extraordinary teammates like Mbappé & Griezman.

    - Benzema did say that he would have no problem playing for any team in any role, which he has done his entire career, as long as he understands the reason.
