My meaningless prediction: Week 18 Toluca beats San Luis Atlas ties Guadalajara America beats Tecos Thus, Toluca takes over first place with 30 points, America and Atlas each will have 28 points. Week 19 Atlas beats San Luis America ties Tigres Toluca ties Santos Therefore, Toluca wins Group one with 31 points on goal differential, Atlas finishes second with 31 points and America finishes third with 29 points. And unless something drastic happens, America will not qualify for the repechaje and will finish out of the playoffs.
Whatever happens, happens we dont deserve to qualify neither does Toluca Atlas IMO will get the 1 spot the 2nd is up for grabs
How will Group One finish ? We all know the real action is in Group 4 with Atlante, Santos and Veracruz all with 30 pts !!! Chivas follows close behind with 28.. As for Group one. Most likely Toluca will continue with its warpath beating San Luis and advancing to the Liguilla. Atlas ties Chivas while Tecos pulls the upset and defeats Club America..
I don't think Tecos will beat America, but I don;t think America will beat Tigres at home. That's the key game there. America would probably rather play that game on the road, up in Monterrey. I agree with Aguilas, that neither Toluca nor America deserve to make the playoffs, but it wouldn't surprise me to see Toluca get in and make a run at the title. As for Group Four, Santos has that last game at Toluca that is looking very tough. Any one of those teams can go deep into the playoffs IMO.
aguila.... whether we deserve to make it or not.. is up for debate.... but look at your the teams with superseason... Veracruz, Atlante, Chivas.... those are teams that America b1tch slapped. you are taking about an America that was dismantled with 5-6 players on the national team and not allowing Lapuente to fully train with his team. you are talking about an America that has been on Codesal's bad side. You are talking about 3 players being ejected or suspended without a justifiable reason. you are talking about an America that had had problems winning at home with weaker teams because all they do is sit back and play 11 men inside the box. and they criticize us for not attacking...what about them? I am not worried about playing games on the road... because when we are the away team... the home team has to be the protagonist and set the tempo and man per man... we are better. But when they come to Azteca.... the bunch up in the back like mice and here and there come out.... that is anti football... if you are going to lose... lose right.. if you are going to win...win right i am tired of people distorting results and not applying the same set of judgements across the board.

So America only has 11 good players? By reading the earlier response, about how America has been hurt by the national team and suspensions, you'd think that America has nobody good enough on the bench to step into a starting position and play well. Every team has the same problems. If it's not national team committments taking players away, it's injury or suspension. Every team has to deal with players missing games and/or practice time. One could make the case that Santos has been hurt more by their absences than America because the players they've had to do without are more important to them than America's are to America. Or what about Atlante? They won at Chivas without their best player because of a national team committment. Chamagol was in Chile when Atlante won at Chivas. But still, I don't think the national team has played any weekend games. The players have been there for the games. If Blanco can stop hitting reporters and stop insulting fans, then he would have not missed any games. America' bitch-slapped Atlante 1-0 in Week 6, a couple of weeks after they bitch-slapped Chivas 1-1. America needs to stop whining and just take care of business. Win and keep playing or lose and go away.
Lets look at the reality of things.. America tied with Chivas 1-1 who played a man down. come on VS, both you and I know that a scoreboard can be just as decieving as stats. Last season when America played Chivas at Jalisco AMerica won 1-0. But you have to be honest and say... we were lucky since we should have lost that game by at least 7. AMerica completely dominated the field. THere are fluke goals and lucky wins.. yeah.. those lucky wins make the game great but lets not make it out to be more than it really is. America won the Veracruz game and nuetralized every player and every region of the field. AFter the game, Guzman said that Ameria controled the field and that they couldnt do anything. Same with Atlante. Its funny to hear Herrera say that a team is hands down better than his team. This is a guy that said and i quote, " a mi no me pueden ganar. la unica forma que me puedan ganar es que me roben el resultado" he was referring to the refs but even Herrera said they were in control and nothing they could do about it. Im sure you have played games where you dominated your opponant by a minimum score but completely dominated them... and also am sure you have blown out a team and get a couple fluke goals along the way/ That was early in the season, Now there are only two Americanistas on the National Team. and dont forget Rojas with Chile and Oviedo last week with Colombia. Even some of the younger players have been getting hurt or have duties witht he sub teams Draw Away and Win at Home, its that simple.. VS, maybe they dont respect Chivas at home, but when they go to Azteca... playing 5-10 minutes of actual soccer... and then sending 11 players inside the box... its hard.. i dont care how good of a creative midfield you have... it is hard. The Home team is obligated to attack, to take the win.. EXACTLY... and when America plays on the road... the home team plays soccer and America nuestralizes them. IF the team would go into Azteca to play rather than the draw... it would be more exciting. Toluca and America last season had two great season.... but were less than spectacular at home regardless of thier win-loss stats at home. THe teams went to the bombonera and camped behind thier goals...
