I am sure there are exceptions in Europe. But I am pretty sure there are no exceptions on how highly people/players/managers put it in SA. That's what IMO makes it more important for SA.

Could'nt agree more with the Scottish gentleman , the tournament means nothing in Europe.
It never even registers in the usual football conversations at work or in the pubs , this is not a slight on any of the South American teams participating just a fact of life.
Factually it is also true that Scottish players changed the way that football was played from a kick and run system perfected in England to the passing game although Jack Charlton will probably never forgive them !

dam. tell me you did not just win 1-0 and that 1 goal that was shown that many goalkeepers would have stopped is not the only goal?

for your information that's not destorying a team. Destroying a team means winning 5-0, not 1-0 on a pretty soft goal.

and the other guy saying Scotland brought soccer to the world? lol
you can't be a team no ones heard of and say you brought soccer to the World. Only maybe 1 or possibly 2 teams in the World can say they brought soccer to the World, but Scotland sure ain't one of them.

I think the only thing this thread had proved is that you are both insane

We already told this fool that argument og "eurpeans don't care" holds no water since half og the players in Europe are from SA. He's just jealous.

And maybe would be different for barcelona had Jorge Wagner, Bolivar and Rafael Sobis played that game also.

And maybe it would be different if Falcão still played in Inter and Ronaldinho and Andershow still played at Grêmio.

    NONSENSE.

Eto and Messi were INJURED. Jorge Wagner, Bolivar and Rafael Sobis were SOLD.

Thats a big difference, can you comprehend it? I guess not.

The guys a complete tool. No-one here ever watches any of those petty cups. That's like a team boasting cos they won the FA Asia Trophy, or the Rotterdamn Tournament. No-one gives a crap. They just want to watch football.

    yes, of course. Why not.

1 - It was also endorsed by FIFA, as you can see in FIFA ads in the Grêmio-Hamburg match.

2 - You were forbidden by FIFA to use the Campeão do Mundo FIFA motto.

3 - The change from Toyota/Intercontinental Cup to World Club Cup doesnt means NOTHING. Its the same as saying that Inter was never champion of the Campeonato Brasileiro because in those days, it had a different format (with play-offs) and there was no thing named SERIE A.

4 - Only 3 teams won the new format. Corinthians, São Paulo and Inter. Now, its obvious that the Corinthians title is WRONG and is stupid, since it wasnt even Libertadores champion. Even you may be intelligent enough to see that. If you consider only the WCC, thats 1/3 of the competition, meaning it has no credibility at all. If you consider the WHOLE competition, thats 1 in about 48 competitions.

5 - We all know the only reason you Inter fans continue with this stupidity is because Grêmio also won it. If not, you wouldnt start this whole "we are the only FIFA champions debate". Quit the infantility. You never cease sounding like a 5 year old crybaby.

Colorado_GAUCHO, I bet of you look back at the European teams involved in the FIFA Club World Cup and the Intercontinental Club Cup then you will find that the vast majority contain more Europeans than South Americans. Just looking at the former and the numbers are:

    7 - South America
    33 - Europe
    2 - North America
    1 - Australia

Of course, that minority of South Americans must have convinced everyone else to take the tournament seriously...

Thanks for highlighting your complete ignorance towards the history of the game.

You mean kinda like the NT World Cup where South America has only 5 spots (and two serious contenders only Brasil and Argentina) and yeat we hold together 7 Wc's??? (plus 2 from Uruguay =9) Against the 20 or more europeans that combined have about the same ?

You meant that kind of seriousness??

My GOD you are a shame to every brazilian fan on this forum, look at you, how old are you? 11?

I was happy for Inter, I love to see Barcelona losing but come on... this cup means nothing to the European clubs and you know it!

The only primadona here is you, your negative behaviour makes me sad, what will the people from other countries think about brazilian fans?

European fans are always respectful with Brazil, they know the importance of our country for football.

Oh, and this "sua inveja faz a minha fama" image shows clearly that you were recently included on the internet world, poor kid... what will you post next? Numa Numa dance? Star Wars kid?

    YOU = CRAP

    kid,

first you said that "european" players don't care and only the south americans woudl fight for that. Then it was shoved up yours that half of barcelona's team is made out of South Americans same as for pretty much all teams in Europe today.

then you said that the representation of south america (jn numbers)was minimal and etc , and it was up yours one more time since is the same stuff as the NT WC and still we have a better display than Europe considering that you guys have a lot more spots. But why are we saying europe and "you guys", where's scotland??? ahahhaha ohh I remember, you guys DONT EXIST in the world of futebol, your country is ZERO, NADA, NIENTE, NOTHING, NICHT

    U SUCK

That's the sad part. If he was a kid, it would be understandable.

    So either:

    - He actually believes most of what he says.
    - He just likes to push people's buttons by making pointless, stupid, ignorant comments.
