The only thing I'm finding right now is on the 14h from 11:30 - 1:00 at the Kickoff Luncheon. http://www.coloradorapids.com/news/newsdetails.asp?ID=16 I though the "meet the team" event was on the 11th. Or possibly the 18th.
Classic, I was always available during weekdays between 11:30am and 1pm. I wish the front office would respond and shed some light on their reasoning with this time schedule.
I heard the commentators, in the second half, talk about that luncheon in a way that made it sound like the "Meet The Rapids" day was intertwined with that luncheon... And to think I was pillaried by the braintrust here on the boards when I asked whether the day had kicked the bucket because of KSE, one person even said "There's always been one, there will always be one" yeah right! Good thing I left Celtic after the half, no volume, one tv, no organization, things have actually gotten worse... I'll never allow a situation like the Ohio State dibacle at Croc's to ever happen (that is the standard for low) I'm not going to pay a nickel to any establishment ever again, until the atmosphere is to my liking, and what is most likely contrary to popular belief here, I'm not a hard man to please.
What? Are they claiming that the near-end-of-season picnic is now meet the rapids day? Great way to introduce the new players to the season ticket holders...after the season is over.
The season was over once it was announced that Mssrs Hankinson and Counce would be in charge of the 2004 season.
That's the expensive one. We're looking for the free one that is our birth rite as season ticket holders. At least I am...
So you guys really need to lay off the GM and Coach! They run the team not the Business... The guy you need to be trashing is the Governor! He is the one making the decisons about the business!! Dan Counce is a great guy and working hard for the team! and doing the best with what he has been given! I hope you all lay off of him! Drop Charlie Wright a note and tell him what you think! he is listed as the Gov. of the team on the website!
I didn't vote for him. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical hegemon of a GM (or whoever appointed him)! However, if given the chance, maybe I would vote for him since Govna Wright has "worked with literally hundreds of clients in his career". Boy, that's a lot of clients.
The Last DJ is playing........at eleven on my dial too. "They wanna see how much you'll pay on what you used to get for free".
Public appology time: HIF, I was wrong. You were right. I owe you a beer. Sacks of dung actually have eliminated an event that makes this team stand out from all the others in Denver. A date where fans can get up close and personal just for driving to the stadium on a weekend day. An event that allows fans to put some names with faces/hair before the matches start and meet some of the bench warmers you never see (unless you take a day off from work and go to training session -- even then you're not supposed to contact anyone on the team). I suspect this is Counce (the ball has been in his court in the past, why not now) trying to save a buck by avoiding opening costs for the stadium (why not hold it at the Pepsi Center if this is the reason -- owned by KSE). This just sounds like the Rapids Front Office doesn't understand the value for their diehard fans and hasn't tried hard enough to justify continuing the event with new ownership. Freaks! One pissed fan getting more and more so every day...
OK You guys are really down on the GM. He does not run the business anymore...Charlie Wright does. Counce is just the GM now. He ONLY manages the team not the front office! I really like him he is a great guy and wants only the best for the organization! We were alot better off when AEG and Dan ran the show!
Well, I know it's not the same as Meet the Rapids Day, but the RapidFire I just got mentions that a week from today there will be a pep rally on the 16th Street Mall and that players will be there. It's not in vogue on these boards, but I'm a glass-half-full person.
