As the United States enters a war with Capricorn being in the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars, for the last few months while Saturn is in Pisces. Believe it or not at your own peril. The elites certainly plan events in accordance with the stars.
Yeah, waking up on a cruise ship docked in Barbados this morning and reading the news was a little unnerving.
LIMA, Dec 29 (Reuters) - Shamans in Peru gathered for an annual New Year's ritual on Monday where they made predictions for the year to come, including illness for U.S. President Donald Trump and the downfall of Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro. "The United States should prepare itself because Donald Trump will fall seriously ill," Juan de Dios Garcia proclaimed as he gathered with other shamans on a beach in southern Lima, wearing colorful ponchos and sprinkling flowers on the sand. if both predictions happen, I may have to reevaluate my core beliefs
Those aren't exactly going out on a limb as predictions. Both those events are very telegraphed as of December 2025.
There was a radio personality back in the day called The Cosmic Muffin. He used to end every astrology segment with "A wise person rules the stars, and a fool is ruled by them."
But life is going on as usual and there is nothing to see here. Trump is only threatening to invade and annex Greenland. It's not like that could destabilize the entire Western world order or even plunge us into a world war! After all, Trump says lots of things that we don't need to take seriously, like using military on the streets of American cities, kidnapping world leaders, disrupting elections in America because of supposed fraud, etc. We can always rest assured that his more insane ramblings are just bluster! The important thing is the stock market is up!
The most amazing thing, for me, isn't what DTH is doing. That's pretty much the sort of half-arsed, idiotic acts I expected. It's what the GOP in congress and the senate are NOT doing. The fact that he can continue acting with very little pushback from people who could stop him is pretty remarkable.
When considering how the GOP is acting, (or not), I'm reminded of this speech in the house of commons by Theresa May's attorney general during her attempts to sort out a deal with the EU, and the UK parliament was dicking around with various elements jockeying for advantage instead of considering the interests of the nation... His phrase there, 'You are not children in the playground. You are legislators', is something the GOP might want to consider. Cox, of course, was a top QC, (at this point... before Liz Truss murdered the queen so he's now a KC), so he was used to making an argument in public.
I hate hate hate being an apologist for institutionalist Democrats but what exactly do you think they could be doing now? They have no power in Washington. None. There are three branches of federal government and the Democrats are totally locked out out of two of them and are a useless minority in the third. Really the only thing they can do is make speeches about how ghastly everything is. Our whole system is set up on the foundational belief that the different branches of government would protect their power. If the judicial and legislative branches won't do that, you can't make them. Unless Democrats want to start responding like Luigi Mangione or the guy who gave Charlie Kirk the fourth fückhole, there's just not a lot for them to do in Washington.
All of the things you say are why the democrats need the most effective communicator they can find to get their message out. Instead, you have Schumer, rambling on as Senate minority leader whose criticism, (as Denis Healey famously said about Geoffrey Howe), is like being 'savaged by a dead sheep'. It's precisely because they have no other power that's the reason they need their best guy to argue their case.
Sorry, brother, but if Cicero was the Democratic Majority Leader, it wouldn't make one lick of difference. They need an Osama Bin Laden or Émile Henry, someone who knows how to do some actual praxis.
Trump. While the hate, fear and cowardice of MAGA would remain after Trump in the hearts of the 74 million or so who voted for Trump, the political force would fracture.
Yes, it would. You seem to forget I'm used to a parliamentary democracy where the opposition often has literally ZERO power. However, some oppositions are effectve and some aren't. Even strong men have to try and corral a degree of support to maintain momentum. If the democrats had a more effective opposition voice it makes life more difficult for Trump and the people around him, like the turtle to pretend the people against them are weak and ineffective. Schumer is the very definition of a weak and ineffective opposition politician.
