Any thoughts here about what sporting clubs fr Portugal should do to become a big club again? I think if they hold onto Eduardo Quaresma , joelson , etc they can become good in the future. They need to make good signings but seems like they don’t have any money. horribly managed club, they should see if figo can come and be president. Leeds has been promoted back to the premier league they should take inspiration from Their comeback.
"Horribly managed club, they should see if someone who has never managed anything before can be president" @GoodDead you're up
What’s wrong with Figo? He is a smart guy. I met him about 4 years ago when I visited the Algarve, he has a cafe in Vilamoura. he is very intelligent and seems like A good business man.
Joao Moutinho on Orlando used to play for sporting. He is in a left back position but I can see him playing left wing especially since Acuna will he sold (smart move as he sucks in my opinion). Sporting CP 2020/21 projected starting XI ——————-Max——————- ——-Quaresma—Neto—-Coates Camacho——-Palhinha———Mendes —————-Geraldes—Wendel —-Joelson———Tomas———moutinho projected finish: 5th
I can see the day where our clubs will be forced to accept foreign owners in order to afford to compete. I think Sporting would be a prime candidate for this.
I get your point but I think it could happen, the problem is that they are community owned so very hard to get everyone to get on board to sell their shares........ if Im not mistaken, I think an Portuguese businessman tried to do it years ago but with Benfica.
Benfica yes for sure but, even harder to get the majority of shareholders to agree . All our teams dont have the money to hold on to our talented youth. We have become a bit of a joke in Eufa and Champions. Sad.
I was informed by one of my scouting contacts in Portugal that Sporting owes him money. This scout sold Some scouting reports to sporting for about 15,000€. This was back in October. He still hasn’t been paid. I don’t know what’s going on over there.
