    Hey guys,
Just curious as to how one would become a professional football player for an A-League club. How would a person go about this, say a teenager who would possibly want a trial. Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

Well, unfortunately living in Tassie isn't going to help.

Competition is quite intense for places on an A-League roster. There aren't very many spots. Most of the clubs have trials early in their preseason but most of them are invite-only.

If you're serious, probably your best bet is moving to a capital city with a good State league. Melbourne would be the most obvious bet for you, Sydney is pretty good too. Trial with Premier League clubs, and hopefully get on their roster. If you can impress in a good quality state league as a young guy then your chance of getting invites to trial with A-League youth teams is greatly increased.

From then on, you need talent, hard work and no small amount of luck. But if that is your dream, good luck.
