Hi guys, I'm a fan from abroad(Belgium) and I already went a number of times to Bernabeu, but because I'm not a socio I always have to buy off touts and lose a lot of money So I want to become a Socio, I know it's not easy and it probably only is for people living in Spain and there is a long waiting period. But does anybody has any info/experience on this matter? I'm going to Madrid again in a couple of weeks, is there an office where I can go to, do you need a spanish bank account?... And a carnet madridista does not attract my interest Thanks!
Not sure if it's only for people living in Spain, I'd say knowledge of the Spanish language would be a plus though as you need to call them to apply ( +902 21 20 02 ) or go by their office. Waiting period is aprox 4 years last I read.
Hehe Alma is welcome Yeah, I'm following Spanish lessons and will stop by their office soon, and hope to get an application. 4 years of waiting doesn't even seems so bad, so I would guess it'll be longer.
I am on the wait list. As of last summer, the official statement was that it was 3 years long but the person I talked to said it would be more like 3.5 years. If you call, you will only need enough Spanish to navigate the options menu, like "for questions about tickets, press 2." Once you get to the right office, someone will answer in Spanish, but there will be someone in the office who speaks English. It is best if you can ask in Spanish for someone who speaks English. Even if you get someone who speaks English, it is best to know the following things in Spanish: How to spell your name Your date of birth Your address Your telephone number. For example, even though I talked to someone who spoke English, I had to translate "March" to "marzo" for my date of birth.
Wow! I thought you could only be born or married into it. Nice. I think I'm going to think about applying.
Wait, you can marry into socio-dom? Hmmm my current girlfriend's position just became a bit more tenuous...
