So Ireland go into their last game against England in the U-19 UEFA Championships needing a win, and anything less than a German win, to qualify for the final. If they lose there is a possiblilty that they will not qualify for next year's U-20 WC. By half time they are 2-0 down and Germany are drawing 1-1. If England manage another goal and the other game stays they same, England go to the final and Ireland go home and don't make the WC. How the f* ck did that happen #3? Ireland stage a great second half come back, score 3 without reply. Meanwhile the Germans get a late goal and arse into the final. Upshot? Ireland playoff in the 3rd/4th place game (vs. Slovakia), automatically qualify for the WC, regardless. England go home, but also automatically qualifing for the WC.
