Sorry guys, I just noticed this. It starts in 12 minutes on FSW (right after the replay of the Final). I'm rolling PVR on it, so if people miss it and it's good, I'll have a digital master copy to share. I'll check in later and let you know what it was all about. On another note, I recorded "The History of Football" that was run on PBS this summer during the World Cup, but I think I missed 2 eps. Anyone tape that program?
They just showed the Chelsea replay match. The goal Lauren scored to ice the game was really a great goal. He got the ball just inside Chelsea's half along the right side. He worked it up the sideline, cut in along the 18-yard box and ripped a left-footed shot just inside the post. Well done Ralph.
Great show... alot of nice goals and i never knew about the conference team request to play on Highbury rather than their own turf.
Just got done watching the show and enjoyed it thoroughly. Speaking of FSW, anyone watch the NE Revolution against Crew on Saturday night? I sent an email to the booth and it was actually read on the air. Just about dropped my pint when I hear my name and KY on FSW!
I enjoyed watching the recap from a gooner's point of view, but I must say my favorite segment was when they interviewed the lower-division players at their day jobs. "And Jimmy has gone from defender to striker as he joins his fellow firefighters on the picket line" was the funniest thing I've heard in ages.
Yeah, that was definitely the most interesting aspect of the program. And just watching the passion of the fans of lower teams with these players where footie is their side job was great to watch. 2 hour program and it was all quality.
