🚨 Real Madrid considers Jesus Fortea (17) a generational talent at right-back.He could be an option to replace Dani Carvajal. @relevo pic.twitter.com/TlIbwuVB30— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) October 6, 2024 We steal him from AM academy few seasons ago. Carlo should let the kid play. Barca has Cubersi and Yamal as kids playing as starters.
Yes, in 2027 when he's free agent. Until then, Arsenal has a lot of say. PL clubs can demand a premium like Hazard, Coutinho fee because of the money they have and Saliba will easily be priced out. Our reality is finding the next great CB prospect than pricing them away from PL clubs.
Just found out that Betis signed Diego Llorente for €3m this summer, would have been another no brainier move for us to cover the CB area with depth, former Castilla player. He’s obviously not exactly an interesting buy but has played every game for Betis this season.
It's not, but when did we last have a season-ending injury this early in the season at our thinnest position? Is Militao really going to be the backup RB for Vazquez? Sidenote: is this desperate search for a RB in the winter transfer market triggering Julien Faubert flashbacks for anyone else?
Benfica has a fraction revenue of top PL clubs yet fleece big clubs selling players for 120-130 ME. Top PL clubs have no need to sell.
TAA is top target for the summer and Carva got renewed. So my guess is January RB signing is unlikely. If we can sign someone like Reis or Hato in January, there's be enough CB back up to play Militao RB in big games. With Rudiger - Tcho as CBs, Camavinga as starting DM.
Both of our starting CBs got ACLs last season, one before the summer window closed and the other before the winter window openee. We ended up with no backup CBs with Rudiger and Nacho starting. So, yes it has happened. And yes, Militao and maybe Fede. We might soon discover that a few players from the team "can play as RB" It is on the management for not getting a proper RB backup for the past 5 summers. Vasquez operates adequately going forward but his defense is shambolic.
LV has been an adequate RB back up since 2020. You dissed LV and bashed management for passing on Cancelo who was actually a defensively disaster even against lower table La Liga clubs for Barca. Most ironic moment was LV cooking Cancelo in Clasico.
Do you know that when you place a coin on the train tracks and a train passes through it squashes it into a large thin piece of metal?
The Clasico that you quote every other post? Where he was awarded MoTM? LV makes more passes to the opposition under pressure than he makes to the front line. Dissed? What is this? Gangster rap? LV is no RB. Doesn't even come close to Carvajal's defensive abilities with one knee.
ACL is "minor" set back? Wonder why City didn't anticipate minor ACL set back with Rodri and have a top class back up DM lined up in the squad. You assume a player can miss 2-3 months of a season with injuries. No one anticipates ACL and have a great player willing to sit on the bench just in case starter has 8-10 month injury.
"...asi y menores" Translates to: [an injury] like this (i.e. ACL) and other minor ones Nah man, say what you will but our squad planning has been awful particularly on the defensive side, we've been playing with fire for years now.
I get the criticisms about lack of CB depth since 2023, but Carva - LV was pretty solid RB combo for 4 years. RB market has been so meh that the likes of Danilo, Cancelo swindled big clubs as starters in last several years. LV did the job in the kind of La liga games you play a back up.
🚨 Liverpool are still at an impasse regarding the renewal of Trent Alexander-Arnold. @_pauljoyce pic.twitter.com/76kUuYKDnE— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) October 6, 2024
The starting right-back of the greatest European club has recently sustained a serious injury. TAA and his agent are not stupid. They now can leverage this situation during negotiations with Liverpool, aiming for an improved contract or potentially a better deal with the greatest club in Europe. Nothing will happen until the summer.
But OTOH If Trent Alexander Arnold had doubts about starting for RM, the disastrous injury to Carva guarantees him the RB position. Not a fan of TAA, he's a huge liability at the back, moody AF. Much rather we pursue Frimpong in the summer. He's also English, what happened to that argument? But damn, Carvajal is a massive loss. This guy ended our struggles at right back for a decade.
Firmpong will cost us 50 million or more. Conversely, TAA comes at no expense, aligning with our reputation for adeptly securing players without paying transfer fees.
And yet some people want .......Trent, to whip balls into the area from the right for Josel...oops he's no longer here
