But there is no 1 Vs 1 if your Left Back is poor in attacking department like Mendy. It becomes a 2 Vs 1 since Mendys free man is now double teaming Vinicius.
He is saying one on ones don’t happen if Mendy is so bad offensively kind of like if Ben Simmons was your teammate and you are Steph Curry, his man is coming to cover you too since he is a non threat
It doesn't really translate to football like that though. Also, playing with an attacking football is the exact opposite of Vini's game. Mbappe is basically occupying the line that an attacking fullback would play, unless we're talking about somebody like Marcelo. He almost always runs the length instead of cutting inside. This is more what you're looking for when you're looking for a traditional left winger that plays with a fullback as a supporting player. This is Mbappe from last season. It opens space for a player to run into the channel and cross the ball. The answer for a player that works with how Vinicius plays is to get somebody like Marcelo that basically becomes a traditional winger as soon as he crosses the opponents half of the field, and cuts inside while Vinicius runs the flank. There's basically nobody in the game right now that isn't a defensive liability and a combination of a fullback that doesn't cover the flank, and Vinicius being practically near the corner flag all the time, leaves the entire side of the field uncovered.
So, who are the hottest right backs right now ? Trent Alexander-Arnold ? Reece James ? Achraf Hakimi ? Frimpong ? I don’t think any of them are realistic, especially in January.
Cama played there, super offensive, Vin still double teamed, Alaba played there , offensive, Vin still double teamed, Nacho played there, some offensive abilities Vin still double teamed, Fran plays there, super offensive, Vin still double teamed, Maybe, just maybe, with regards to Vin being double teamed it's really not about who is playing LB and whether they are offensive or defensive, maybe it's just about how Vin plays the position, ( and i'll add successfully too, over 20 goals 3 seasons in a row and numerous assists, it's not like he's struggling as some like to make out) Maybe it's better to have a strong defensive LB behind Vin, you don't even need stats, just watch the games and see how much Vin ignores them all when they move up the pitch, maybe the opposition knows this as well.......
Fran Garcia has a contract to 2027, Mendy just extended his. We can bring back Miguel, but is he really considered good enough by the club for us to spend money on bringing him back despite extending Mendy and having Fran Garcia on a long term deal, essentially, having three players in that position? We might get up to 20 mil. if he's sold to a Premier League club, i think the club will see this as a much more disireable option considering our sights seemingly being set on TAA.
We clown @Hendrix22 every now and then but sometimes i wonder if EVERY signing has to be a core guy, somebody that fits with the group and hits all the Xs and Os. We've done a smashing job with bringing players in who fit with the team socially and keep this team together, but you have to wonder whether we can hire some part time help that is happy to be there from time to time.
That’s our biggest issue. We need depth but every signing has to be a star or a young player with superstar potential or otherwise the media and the fans deem it not Madrid quality There are plenty of good players out there that could contribute, especially given this long seasons. But they are apparently not good enough so we gotto run guys like Dani and Fede into the ground and I’m not saying that because Dani got hurt
BREAKING: Real Madrid have decided to sign players in the winter market, for the first time in 6 years. [Marca] JUST IN: Jorrel Hato is among the options Real Madrid is considering this winter. [Marca] BREAKING: Real Madrid want to sign CB and RB in January market. [Marca]
Ooor, alternatively; not everyone is fine with signing anyone that has a heartbeat and two working legs. Dalot would be chewed up and spat out after 45 mins. He can’t even make it at United and somehow we should sign him. Along with all the other dumbass suggestions like we had in the past (eg Martial). Not every signing has to check all the boxes no. Doesn’t mean we should go around signing absolute bums. Waste of money, time and space.
🚨 NEW: Real Madrid’s PRIORITY is to sign a left footed CB. @jfelixdiaz pic.twitter.com/bbubmGMP7Z— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) October 6, 2024 Alaba's recovery not going well?
They’ll probably tell us to get ********ed but I guess one could try. He is great going forward but man is he poor defensively.
We’ve seen the reality of Jacobo, it wasn’t true he would be counted on as the fourth centre back, so we’re really on 2 CBs and Alaba. With Carvajal out it would be outrageous to not sign a defender. We’d be jeopardising our whole season. My opinion is we will now sign the overdue 4th centre back who will slot in and Militao will be moved to RB for the rest of the season.
Reis probably the most realistic of the three in January window. Brazilian League season will be over by then. 🚨 BREAKING: Real Madrid are considering these CB’s: Castello Lukeba, Jorrel Hato, and Vitor Reis. @jfelixdiaz pic.twitter.com/2b28kUWgYL— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) October 6, 2024 🚨 NEW: Real Madrid’s PRIORITY is to sign a left footed CB. @jfelixdiaz pic.twitter.com/bbubmGMP7Z— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) October 6, 2024 🚨 NEW: Trent Alexander-Arnold’s signing was focused on the possibility to sign him as a free agent, not in January. Now, we will have to see Liverpool’s position with the player. @jfelixdiaz pic.twitter.com/v839LyiC6z— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) October 6, 2024 🚨 After 6 years of not using the winter market, everything indicates that Real Madrid will sign a player in January. @jfelixdiaz pic.twitter.com/KK0TZeuRMM— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) October 6, 2024 🚨 BREAKING: Real Madrid want a CB AND A RB in the winter market. @jfelixdiaz pic.twitter.com/yMa1kfVz1A— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) October 6, 2024
