Next Generation 2023: It is not always easy being a centre-back in Brazilian football. The spotlight is often on the attacking players and especially so in a year group as promising as the 2006 one. However, even in an environment where defenders can be marginalised, Vitor Reis has been gaining more and more prominence with some remarkable performances. A fast, well-balanced player with excellent positioning, he is the standout defender of his generation. He has been captain of Palmeiras and the Brazilian national team at age-group levels and has one particular Seleção defender as his main reference point. "I’ve always looked up to Marquinhos,” he has said. “I always watch his games and I'm inspired by his attitude on and off the pitch.” Playing in midfield or up front was never really an option for Reis, as his mother, Ana Maria, recalls. "When he was seven, the coach told him he was going to be a centre-back and he liked the idea. I didn't know what to think about it because I didn't even know what a centre-back was at the time. But the coach was right.” Thiago Rabelo https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...0-of-the-best-young-talents-in-world-football

Vitor Reis, the centre-back who interests Real Madrid Vitor Reis is noted for his good positioning and tactical intelligence His 186 centimetres of height also allow him to be important in aerial play and set pieces. He has a certain nose for the area and this explains his two goals in his first 10 games as a professional. This height does not limit his movements in open spaces and he has a powerful run and a starting pace that allows him to fight with the attackers without problems. A complete defender who adapts perfectly to modern football. He combines physique and talent. https://as.com/futbol/internacional/asi-juega-vitor-reis-el-central-que-interesa-al-real-madrid-n/
🚨BREAKING: Saudi Arabia has made an offer for the BIGGEST contract in sports history. Both Real Madrid and Vini said NO. @jfelixdiaz pic.twitter.com/Wlh3POqfRW— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) August 12, 2024
£350 million a year?!? I’m a Madrid fan but I would go on strike if I were Vini. Refuse to train, swear at Flo’s mother in the press, all sorts lol.
Me too Pay us a €350m transfer fee and he’s yours Saudi. We can still challenge with Mbappe, Rodrygo, and Arda.
Real Madrid and Vinicius reject the biggest transfer in football history Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli are willing to do anything to sign the Brazilian striker https://www.marca.com/futbol/real-madrid/2024/08/12/66ba2e60ca47413d698b456d.html Mbappe rejected a bigger offer from Saudi last year. Those are retirement options not in the prime of superstars.
Renewed couple of weeks ago with 100 ME buyout. Given they sold Endrick and Estevao for 60 ME (including bonus), I'd assume a defender would cost less when they decide to sell.
Most expensive defensive signing from Brazil so far is Beraldo to PSG for 20 ME. https://www.transfermarkt.com/campeonato-brasileiro-serie-a/transferrekorde/wettbewerb/BRA1
🚨 JUST IN: Saudi Arabia will make a formal OFFER to Real Madrid for Vinicius in the next few days, expected to be around €400M. @diarioas pic.twitter.com/9mkp4YTQ7I— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) August 12, 2024 They don’t understand NO?

RM's reply should be 1 billion buyout clause. 🚨 BREAKING: Saudi's offer to Vinícius:• €1 BILLION salary, 13x bigger than his current one.• Free agency in 2029.• Opportunity to return to Europe before Vini turns 30 years old.• Whatever job he wants in Saudi football after retirement.• Ambassador for 2034 World… pic.twitter.com/QVLcCQxdAY— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) August 12, 2024
Honestly for €400 million I would be ok with Vini leaving. He has won it all for us by the age of 23. And if he invests 10% of that billion euros into combating racism he may actually be able to create some change.
If he leaves, I'm done with Brazilians in Europe, lol. But he won't leave. Don't see Vini retiring from European football like this.
I can understand the player being tempted to leave. (I doubt he does though). But from the club’s perspective there’s no point getting £400 million for him if you can’t improve the team with that money. The club is financially healthy and there are no private shareholders to worry about so there’s no point in making a profit just to make a profit. And if you replace the best winger in the world with five very good players I don’t think you improve the team. Teams like Spurs have done that plenty of times in the past.
You guys are crazy. You aren't Shareholders getting paid a dividend from that transfer fee and we literally can't upgrade when he's the best in the world at what he is doing. We are very well to do financially we just have a President and management group who rather not spend aggressively. Fans are wild. We want undying love and blind loyalty but we will dump anyone if it means we can get something or someone we value.
AS: They tried to have a meeting with Florentino Pérez from Saudi Arabia, but the president did not want to negotiate, and referred him to José Ángel Sánchez. This meeting with José Ángel Sánchez did take place, by telephone, while the team was on tour in the US. The general manager of Real Madrid was also blunt. Vinicius IS NOT FOR SALE. And he referred to the 1,000 million clause. https://t.co/DvSDlKLTWL— SrNaninho (@SrNaninho) August 12, 2024
