Makes sense as Rodrygo is likely to be a starter. That's what Zidane said. The easiest thing is to throw in the towel, but I want to have minutes and succeed here.” pic.twitter.com/5znXEa6gtO— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) August 7, 2024 🗣️ Ceballos: "My future? translation on his transfer status = “ I don’t want to play road matches to Russia in the Europa league this winter”
"First steps of the summer operation." Primeros pasos de la operación del verano.— José Félix Díaz (@jfelixdiaz) August 7, 2024 Davies? But him being cryptic means BS like tortoise emojis during various Mbappe sagas.
There was a time when Atletico was discovering these elite strikers and selling them on for big fees.
Because the bigger clubs felt they could throw a bit of money at them and just get the players that work out risk free and avoid the flops. Real Madrid missed one or two entire generations of players by using this kind of thinking while football was changing around us.
Yea. Aguero went from Argentine league to Atlético. Now Man City who dominates PL signs Alvarez, Echeverri directly from them. Monchi at Sevilla got Alves for cheap, but couple of years later his competition to sign Marcelo from Brazil was RM. We got Higuain and Gago straight from Argentina in the same window.
That shouldn’t be much of an issue for them, their revenue is OK, but they just need to make sure they don’t repeat the Felix fiasco. With Simeone’s football style they need that elite finishing up top. Torres, Forlan, Aguero, Falcao, Griezmann, Costa etc. they need this calibre consistently if they want to compete. We saw how half a season of an elite striker in Suarez can propel them completely as a team.
I've made no secret in previous months that I would absolutely be thrilled if Wirtz or Musiala were future Madrid players, but there's so much time between now and next summer, and if we go 4-3-3 and it works, like we're still winning trophies with the shift and our midfield is still humming, there's literally not the space to do anything with those guys. It would be pointless. Go ahead, make contacts, do whatever just for the sake of proper preparation, but there's every chance there's no room for them and it just isn't gonna happen, which would strangely make me happy because it means the guys we already have are more than good enough. Whether it's this summer or a year from now, I'm gonna continue to pay attention to CB for all of this.
If any sale is going to happen methinks it'll be Lunin or Ceballos this summer, no one will buy Vallejo. As for the rest, I doubt the club would make a decision this soon about what players will be sold next summer. If it's an operation..maybe Frimpong or breaking Xabi Alonso's contract in the summer. Wirtz is brilliant but he'll cannibalize Arda's minutes.
🚨 At Real Madrid, they repeat since June that Rodrygo is STAYING. The plan is for him to form an attacking trio with Vini Jr and Kylian Mbappé. @Rodra10_97 pic.twitter.com/0w77p8haUt— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) August 7, 2024
If we didn’t have Mbappe we would’ve paid at least that much for Alvarez and I think most would’ve been pretty happy tbh. f*** Atleti but they’ve done good this summer and the league is gonna be competitive
Jan Age Fjorfoft on ESPN when we signed Mbappe said Haaland will be the final addition to the new Galactico era at RM. I doubt it. Think we moved on and hence invested that much on Endrick.
Lol you think Florentino would have co-signed paying €75M for a talent that couldn't beat out the €75M Halaand? Since when does he go small? That is what people want, not what Florentino does. People still don't realize that those Mariano and Jovic transfers is why they man is so hesitant. He wants "sure" bets or no bets at all. If we didn't get Mbappe we would probably have fixated on Halaand for next year or something.
Article about GK Fran Gonzalez whom RM signed from Cultural Leonesa in 2022. He's 6"6 and Carlo and GK coach Llopis rates him well apparently. Promoted to Castilla for new season. https://as.com/futbol/primera/fran-gonzalez-enamora-a-ancelotti-le-recuerda-a-buffon-n/

Good to see from Ceballos. If he's ok being used ad a solid sub that's ok with me. He is on 10 mil a year so he'd also be stupid to go elsewhere for a fraction of that to be fair.

Chelsea fans pretty much saying Delaney is a shit source for them, so probably not too much to see here, at least at this moment.

For Alvaraz? Let me speak for myself and say that I wouldn't be happy with the addition of Alvarez as a starter (you mentioned Mbappe), even at a lower fee. I'm sure he'll do fine with Atleti, but he's far from the level a club like Real Madrid should aim for in terms of a starting forward.
I don't expect Rodrygo to force his way out or anything, but if he is open to the move and we can extort Man City, then by all means I wouldn't say no to letting it happen. Not because I don't rate Rodrygo, but I think he has a price. Vini, Jude, Mbappé, no, there's no price for them, Rodrygo has never shown that same level consistently (in no small part because he's chronically playing on the right). Let me be clear though that, as @Saeta Rubia suggests, it would need to be a fat transfer fee, well north of €100M before we talk, because we hold all the leverage in that scenario. You want him that bad, we know you have the money, we'll say once you've reached an acceptable figure. The biggest problem no doubt would be that Rodrygo has scored so many goals against Man City over the years - 5 I think it is? - so that would suck to lose that contribution. Strange as it is, he's had their number.
