Yes. Tcho will be 3rd choice CB until Alaba returns. How much he plays there would depend on Rudiger and Militao's health.

This is going to be Camavinga's 4th season at RM. I don't think he'd be content with rotational starting role for few more years.

If we don't play 4-4-2, keeping Camavinga and Tchouameni together for long is impossible. Fede is in his prime and Bellingham only 20.

I can't see Rudiger/Militao not getting minor injuries or suspended on a routine basis. Tchouameni is going to get a decent amount of minutes as the 3rd CB. I think it could look more like a 3 CB rotation in the end until Alaba comes back.

The latest reports suggest that Alaba won't be really full fit until mid November. And who knows what kind of shape he will be in at that time.

I actually don't think the midfield is very deep now if Tchouameni is getting half his minutes at CB. Bellingham/Valverde/Camavinga, and 1/2 Tchouameni + Modric ( a year older) + Ceballos.

Any chance the club sees this recent development relating to Yoro like some kind of blessing in disguise in light of the Cama/Tchou situation? I for one can't believe Cama – considering the very high level he's shown since his arrival – is heading into his fourth season as a rotational piece.

Camavinga as a DMF and the lack of Kroos may mean Modric gets lots of minutes this season. That's kind of a big deal. Arda may be tested in midfield as well. It's his only chance to get consistent minutes, honestly.

We had very good season that is fine but can you drive car by looking only into rear Mirror ? In same way excellence is achieved by looking forward , consistently working on shortcomings and consistently improvements ..if our season was so good why did we sign Mbappe

Our castilla is currently in third division and the skill gaap with laliga is too large so club generally send potential castilla player as a loan to other teams to perform and expecting a decent performance with first team is bit difficult and pose challenge for player progression

What happen last season with our CB position withso many injuries is unfortunate event and we couldn't do anything because we were in the mid of season but with all the time we should have addressed this issue and should have closed a decent CB and also just replying on Yoro signing was big mistake and letting Marin go shows that our transfer strategy is not robust

Carlos did good job with managing the CB position with is temporary solutions but expecting he would succeed doing this successfully this season is foolishness

    (Sorry for typing mistakes)

Carlos can play double pivot with Cama and Tchou to compensate for lack of defensive duties from Mbappe & Vini jr (Kroos was also helping team defensively last year) and rodrygo would be benched more but may be Carlos would be more adaptive and use multiple formation during different part of play.

We do have 4 centre back options though. Which more than most of last season

Before Jude "took on a lot of the scoring", just like right now, pre season, no one here knew that he would, nearly everyone had already decided that we could not compete and win without a worthy 9, i keep saying "worthy" because, of course, we already had a 9 but no one thought he was of any use,

All this multiple goalscorers on the team stuff wasn't even discussed as a viable alternative, we are hearing this narrative now but not then, despite those options it seemed the world had come to an end without this needed 9.......

Every day isn't Sunday so who knows what will happen, but we have 4CB's, we've switched Nacho for Vallejo (not the best due to his injury record i know) one on the mend and apparently two promising young ones in house, when Farca push all their "superkids" some here complain we don't give ours a chance, well, maybe here is the chance, Yoro is 18, Jacobo who seems to be rated by the club is 19, most of us only heard about Yoro after we started chasing him playing in the Farmers league ( not my words) maybe one of our youngsters can make the step up if given a chance, who knows,

As for all this worry about Tchou it's IMO farfetched and unnecessary, i'm pretty sure he'll be fine long term in our team, finally, just like scoring defending depends on the whole team not just the 3 or 4 guys at the back and the keeper, just like last season i'll give the club, Carlo and the team the benefit of the doubt at this time, let's see how it goes

All of this to say practically nothing. Here's the truth in one simple sentence:

    We became worse in defense.

One of them has played 3 games in 2 years, and the other one is a serious question mark going forward. Personally i think Tchouameni is going to grow restless if anything happens and he finds himself starting in CB over a month or so.

The season depends on Rüdiger and Militao having a season where they are made out of steel.

If this were Barca's depth we'd be rubbing out hands in anticipation.

That’s to easy to argue tbf. We have Militao and Courtois back, who we did not have last season.

Goalkeeper play didn't present a problem though, and for the return of Militao we lose Nacho. We didn't work on a CB transfer for months purely out of boredom. We clearly identified a need.

I don’t know anything about Barcas depth, or any other club tbh, but I would bet that you couldn’t really make much of an argument that any other top club is that much better than us in the depth of their defence. Happy to be proven wrong as I don’t know anything about it

Goalkeeper wasn’t a problem - in hindsight. Not that we knew that before hand. I’m saying you could make an argument against anything you’re saying, it’s not the “truth”. We’ll see if that club have got it right by the end next season.

It surprises me in more willing to trust the club than a lot on here

Man management is Carlo's strength. I don't see Tchouameni sulking about being 3rd CB until Alaba is back. Most probably Tcho has been already told that's the scenario.

And became stronger in attack, but less depth in midfield. Also theoretically stronger @ GK since Thibo is back.

Interesting how this all plays out.

hope the teams signs a high potential young CB to groom this summer or the next. Rudiger and Alaba are getting up there in age.

If anybody would've said that we're going to let Yoro slip and sign nobody the response would be "OK, lol, loser".

Let's be honest, we felt like Yoro was a layup and we knew we needed to improve there.

I feel like the club is making a mistake. "We won hampered last season so we'll do it again", why pay hundreds of millions for Mbappé then? We won without him?

It's the other way around. Club passed on options since 2021 including Kane last summer.so they could afford Mbappe when he eventually left PSG. Yoro was seen as potential starter for next several years rather than just a 4th CB for next season. Looks like they will wait till they find another option like Yoro. Unless there's an unexpected market opportunity like Guler last season.

Vallejo or Jacobo/Joan will be 4th choice until Alaba is back. Carlo will use Tcho as 3rd CB until then.

You know the season never plays outike you imagine it on paper, that's why you need quality across the board to make sure you're covered.

We've made relying on coincidence and having faith our motto, some years we pay for it and stay say "if only this guy didn't get injured".

This place has pivoted to thinking this off season window has been optimal with just signing Mbappe and Endrick when everybody thought that just isn't enough before.

Hire Ramos for a season, have him mentor Joan.
