Buffon and Neuer were/are top tier goalies in their late 30s. Tibo has tons of years left as the #1 imo.
In fifa manager mode. Our best option is to find a young CB or promote from Castilla someone who is happy to ride bench because once Alaba returns they r 4th choice. No player worth 50 million is sitting behind Militao and Rudiger.
Jacobo Ramon (19) is the best CB prospect at Castilla now. He's playing U-19 Euros but starting as RB. Carlo doesn't have a track record of playing Castilla players though apart from Paz for few minutes last season. ZZ gave few starts to Hakimi, Miguel right out of Castilla.
Kepa is earning 3 times more than Lunin in salary. That is why Lunin should leave, and that is why we should look for a cheaper alternative than Kepa.
Olympics will also feature a lot of young players that top clubs haven't really followed so far. We offered Lunin renewal until 2029 with good salary. But he's had second thoughts seeing Courtois start CL final and perform at the level he did without missing a beat after two injuries. Doesn't make any sense for Lunin to be Courtois back up for next 3-4 years at least. He has won 2 CLs already and the 2nd one playing a key role. Lunin could start for a top 4 level club in big 5 leagues probably if not the biggest clubs that doesn't have a spot open.
Those are our League minute records for the past two seasons: 23/24 Rüdiger 2708 Nacho 1741 Alaba 1156 Militao 497 22/23 Militao 2703 Rüdiger 2411 Alaba 1841 Nacho 1632 Vallejo 21 Safe to say no defender that is on the roster is "sitting", even Nacho got about 1700 minutes as a substitute. This is a position with a lot of movement and rotation either due to card accumulation/penalties or by injury/rotation. Whoever is on the team, will play serious minutes of competitive football.
why is there over 2500 more minutes overall in previous season? Edit. Tchu effect.Did he play that many minutes as CB?
Tchouameni started 7 of his 22 League games (as a starter) as a CB. He played the entire game in all of them. He started 7 CL games of which 2 of them he played through as a CB. He played as a CB for about 30% of his minutes last season.
🚨🇨🇦 Bayern’s Uli Hoeneß on Alphonso Davies: “We told him very clearly that if he doesn't renew his contract, we will let it expire”.“He won't get any more money”.↪️⚪️ Real Madrid remain interested in Davies also for summer 2025 in case he will be a free agent. pic.twitter.com/sMu22P1s4D— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) July 21, 2024
With Kroos as a DM, we can disagree on his effectiveness there but without a DM it remains to be seen how Aurelien will perform in central defense.
🚨 JUST IN: Real Madrid want to advance in negotiations to extend Ferland Mendy’s contract. @FabrizioRomano pic.twitter.com/7OFt1UiCxJ— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) July 21, 2024 🚨 Real Madrid were never going to pay more than €25M/€30M for Alphonso Davies this summer. @FabrizioRomano pic.twitter.com/uy5M431XiW— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) July 21, 2024 🚨 @FabrizioRomano: “Real Madrid are clear: They are not desperate to sign a new CB. If there is an opportunity, they will be on it, otherwise, they’re very happy to continue with the same defenders they have.” @WatchPlayback pic.twitter.com/gTCT4NLnkF— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) July 21, 2024
Kroos was a deep-lying playmaker who did some defensive work. No one here rated Kroos defensively and dude was getting bashed during every big game pretty much. . Camavinga is a defensive midfielder and a double pivot with him and Fede will be solid defensively. Where we will miss Kroos is playmaking aspect from deep. Fede showed good qualities of that in Copa though.
Inter about to make 10 ME bid to Zenit for Renan who's on loan at Internacional. Wonder if Juni will make a move since "market opportunity" is mentioned a lot in the media. Some of the highly rated CBs around are Brazilians. Militao, Bremer at Juve, Murillo who joined Nottingham Forrest last season. Wonder why Juni hasn't explored Brazilian market so far for CBs. Militao was signed from Porto.
🚨 Al-Ittihad wanted to sign Kepa but they understood that he’s waiting for Real Madrid. The feeling of those close to Kepa is that Real Madrid will let Lunin leave. @FabrizioRomano pic.twitter.com/F1I1CRxauC— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) July 21, 2024 ______ Then Bayern management will cry again next summer how bosman ruling is ruining football and how great it was before that to hold onto players after contract had expired. Prior to the Bosman ruling, professional clubs in some parts of Europe (but not, for example, in Spain and France) were able to prevent players from joining a club in another country even if their contracts had expired.
we can still bring Hermoso in free agent with short terms or loan someone, after this season that we lost 2 players with ligament tear injury is to be stupid not to bring a backup CB. its look like RM didnt want to bring Yoro in 2024, they werent serious at all and wanted him to ejnoy as free agent, so why we sold Marin? dont understand. our summer is closed for now(maybe a GK)
Davies simply negotiated and played himself into a corner, remember the initial Bayern offer was considerably higher than what he's getting now. His agent is just an attorney without any prior experience in the sport, which is why guys like Lunin go with an agent with a certain weight to his name when they are at a crucial moment in their career. It's like I always say, sometimes it's just better to keep the player, there's more value there.
If Utd or some other PL club offers 50-60 ME for Davies this summer, I can see Bayern accepting. But they'd have to offer Davies 9-10 ME nett too.
Either this summer or next, with the way his agent is allegedly handling negotiations he’s likely to go for the big pay day and that’s likely to be found in EPL. The top 4/5 teams all need a LB as well. Don’t see this happening unless the player really really wants to join us.
Would love to see Pepe back for a season. I get it he's old but as 4th choice and the hunger he still has its a net benefit for the young lads and the team in general, it will cost peanuts as well. Varane is also a free agent, though he will demand lots of money I feel. I wouldn't mind any of them back as a 4th choice CB.
Vallejo was clinically depressed after two injuries last season. Buying out his contract for final year might be better for his mental health rather than having to deal with RM fans for a season.
Speaking of Bayern, not that we didn't already know this but it still just shows how unbalanced the Bundesliga really is. https://www.reddit.com/media?url=ht...bp&s=8591710f03f381b39073a355f9d765660280692e
Ligt earning as much a Rudiger. No wonder they want to offload him and sign Tah who would earn a lot less.
They are also generating a lot more. When I was growing up, the rest of the country hated bayern with a passion, now people across the country are growing up to be bayern fans. The final against Dortmund didn't feel as big and significant as a final against Bayern would have. Probably because a lot of people felt like Dortmund didn't have much of a chance? The Bundesliga apparently had an upswing in viewership with Leverkusen, but the broadcast rights situation is dire, just like it is in France and Italy. We're looking at the third broadcast rights deal in a row where the amount is going down instead of up. I can also confidently say that the Euro wasnt as big as the world cup in 2006. It was better than the euro during the Lockdowns but something about it felt cheap.
