But that is true for any Madrid manager. That isnt a Xabi burden of performance. Also the crowds reaction would depend if the team is generating chance and is missing chances left and right. Or if they struggle to even create scoring oppoortunities because of disjointed structure.
Salah defends Alexander-Arnold The Egyptian criticizes the boos the full-back received at Anfield: "He deserves the best possible farewell from Liverpool." "I told Trent not to look me in the eye when he says goodbye, because I love him so much," Salah said in an interview with Gary Neville on Sky Sports. “ He deserves the best possible farewell from the club . He's done a lot for the city and the club. He was probably the best homegrown player in the club's history, and now he wants a new challenge . That's his decision,” he added. “ He's 26 years old and has won the league twice. What more could he have done? He needs a change and another challenge. People don't realize it, but he's been at the club for 20 years. Mentally, it's difficult to be at a club for 20 years. It's the place you love, yes, but having to go to the same place every day can affect you. I wish him the best. The fans have been tough on him, but he doesn't deserve it because he's given everything,” he noted.
I'm not sure we'll play 4 or 5 atb. But a similar scenario happened years ago when we had Cicinho who was an ultra attacking wingback as well. Beckham used to run and cover for him a lot to the point you'd usually see Becks further back than Cicinho most of the time.
Real Madrid is closing in on the signing of Álvaro Carreras. He's been their long-time full-back target. It will be the third signing of the Xabi Alonso era, after Arnold and Huijsen. I have a feeling it won't be the last. 1923499995996520509 is not a valid tweet id
My one take away from the bottom graphic is that I either want Stiller or Wharton. City can have Reijnders
I know ******** all how Alonso's teams play, however these transfers sounds exciting, we are tackling our weakness not wasting money on dumb transfers.
Incredible. These guys save for TAA wouldn't have cost more if we'd gotten them last summer. Yet we left Carlo working with a completely imbalanced team. All these are positions Carlo wanted to strengthen too. Anyways, can we hear some rumours about a veteran CF now please.
Huijsen was Juve & Roma outcast last summer. His season at Bournemouth made top PL clubs and RM interested in him. Carreras was a Man Utd reject last summer as well. Fact that these are the best options now is a bit concerning tbh. I hope they succeed, but let's not pretend these players were top club options last summer which RM simply ignored.
3-5-3 is We balked at paying €62m for Yoro last season to essentially paying the same amount for Hujisen. I’m not in an opinion of who will be a better player in the long run, but it’s indicative of how we decided to make a move for a player who wasn’t a generational talent when compared to Yoro. Jvardiol went for €100m and he’s meh at defending so what do these scouts really know?
We definitely need a new back line, but it's only in hindsight that the decision not to sign anyone was so bad and Carlo should have done better at least trialling the academy players. We haven't lost the league by much, and I'm near certain the final difference between us and Barcelona could have easily been overcome of Carlo wasn't so insistent on starting Rodrygo. We had Bellingham playing left midfield, Vini and Rodrygo absolutely sucking throughout the season and the unforseen injuries to Carvajal and Militao. We genuinely were unlucky this season. Or at least just didn't have a tiny bit of more luck to pull us through.
With Xabi not officially signed yet, there's a good chance those are moves he requires to put pen to paper, as a commitment to putting a better team together than last year. Which would be a smart move.
I'm not necessarily against the idea of Stiller, who I admittedly had not ever heard of until now. BUT, however much we missed Toni Kroos this year (and we did), I hope that's not the reason we'd be signing Stiller. There are many ways to strengthen the midfield; trying to recreate a particular formula or find a successor to a particular player is a fool's errand I think. The next Kroos is not walking through that door.
Yep. Whether we like it or not the board wouldnt do all these rushed signings if it didnt believe the CWC would bring in significant revenue.
We were lucky to have Xabi for 5 seasons and Kroos for another 10. Sahin, Illara, Ceballos were signed as promising playmakers, but failed. Not expecting a generational playmaker like Xabi or Kroos, but it'd be be nice to have a good one. Xhaka was so crucial for the success of Xabi's Leverkusen.
I've got a feeling the board will set up shop come next transfer window whether Xabi wins trophies or not. Unless its a galactico or free aganet signing
I'm confused. Is the transfer window open? I don't understand how the club is signing new players and the season isn't over. A bit disrespectful but then again the club basically had Carlo at gun point trying to coach the team during the Classico. It's no wonder the players gave up if they saw the President had no faith in the coach and team and threw away the whole season to save a few euros.
It's not the club playing for the CWC it's the players. What does that give me if the club makes more money? Why would anybody play to give the club the possibility to pay somebody else to do their work? I don't think the players will be motivated by the prize money unless you give them a significant amount in bonuses.
You can sign new players. They just cant move outside the transfer window, so they keep it under wraps.
