A sorta reliable source in Spain strongly believes that we are serious about adding a LB before the CWC. The midfielder he's pessimistic about.
Unlike Lenny Yoro (verdict is out on that one), I'm glad Florentino and JAS gave the greenlight for defensive reinforcments quicker. Really sucks that they dealt Carlo a bad hand last summer, but something tells me Xabi said "we aint playin that game" and asked for these before even agreeing to join. This is good!
We need to sign Angelo Stiller man. We need a player like him. Hope it happens before a Bayern or Dortmund snatch him up.
Carreras rumours are beginning to really heat up. From what I've seen / know of him he's equally proficient in defence and attack, with a great engine, solid work rate and a decent cross.
I 100% think the same. And it is annoying to see how our decision makers work and how Florentino is literally prioritizing a nothing tourney when he should have gotten Carlo real help last winter at RB and CB which may have led to us ending the season differently. Should have prioritized defending our league title. The club has moved in a very weird way (overall not just transfers) these last 18 months and i heavily disagree with the stances and approaches we have taken. Not only has the club's image been dragged in the mud over bullshit, we have seen its affects on the pitch too which is the bigger problem. I hope we course correct. Having said that i am not some angry teenager, I am willing to give the club the benefit of the doubt because contrary to what a lot of so called fans think these same people led us through an era of amazing success both off and on the pitch which only happens due to a series of great decisions.
you guys seen this? wow....teams are spending out there.... 💰 Money spent by clubs to reinforce their defense in the last 5 seasons.Real Madrid: €5m. pic.twitter.com/b9yQJC2x0K— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) May 15, 2025
Impressive. ⚖️🔎 Only one midfielder in the Top 5 Leagues ranks in the 80th percentile or higher for duels won %, forward pass %, key passes, and progressive passesAngelo Stiller 🇩🇪• 99th percentile for progressive passes• 98th percentile for forward passes• 90th percentile for… pic.twitter.com/Lbx02AIOkx— DataMB (@DataMB_) April 20, 2025

"No one convinces the club...errr wait. Sorry. Let's sign three players tomorrow." Fax machine is working OVERTIME.
He was hurt this year so it did hurt his progression. Stiller is the better option for this team, but seems Xabi is looking for a DLP to add.

Also article was about Wharton's career so far with FA Cup final this weekend rather than a transfer story. Said City, Liverpool, RM and Barca love him. Gonna be a 100 M transfer to another PL club imo.
Don't know anything about this player. What's a good comp for him? Why do you think his profile is best for our needs? I think i'll look him up on YT this evening when i get home.
Stiller is a complete 6, hard working, very good on the ball, deals very well with the press, and is not wasting passes for the sake of passing. The profile that Xabi is looking for is evident from the players we're linked with, Stiller, Wharton, Zubimendi. Not sure what that says about LT future of Tchouameni though.
Real Madrid won’t pay the full €45M release clause. Their first offer is closer to €30M, aiming to secure Mastantuono for next season. Talks with River Plate continue, but both sides remain far apart on the fee. — @TyCSports Real Madrid won’t pay the full €45M release clause. Imo if Rodrygo is staying, it's an indication that Xabi will go with attacking trio. If there's a significant investment in midfield, likely means Rodrygo leaving and a four man midfield like 2023-24.
Carlo is looking at all these rumours and signings and probably thinking to himself wtf where was this energy when he needed it! Huijsen and Carreras probably will be wrapped up before Carlo has said his goodbyes. On Stiller, the more I think about it the more it makes sense, especially in a four man midfield, occupying the same space Kroos did last year or Ceballos this year when he looked good.
I am I being greedy wanting Kerkez?? I can't say I watched him (as you can see I used everyone else rating of Hisjuen) but those highlights? Man Carreras looks very solid.. but Kerekz looks special More like not sure where that leaves Rodrygo Partner Fede in front of Stiller who will play deep. Jude in front of Fede and Tchou as the tip of the diamond. Vini and Mbappe partnership. Camavinga, Guler, Brahim, Mastantouno reserves for the diamond. Endrick, Rodrygo reserves for the strikers.
Can't say I've watched more than a handful of River's games this season, but Mastantuono is a very different profile than the likes of Stiller or Wharton. Franco is an attacking mid type in the mold of Guler or Paz or maybe Wirtz. Seems an odd profile to add unless we want to replace Rodrygo's profile with these. and Stiller/Wharton would be Modric/Ceballos replacements
