Lol the club was in discussions for Mbappe every 2 seasons for seven years.

Although some are saying the Mbappe transfer proves Flos has lost his touch, that he got played.

If it's true that Flo always gets his man and a #9 is needed, then he will make Haaland to Madrid happen. Failure to win a title this year demands the club go into the transfer market and fill the holes in the squad with there being a glaring hole at CF.

Then again you was here backing James over the entire summer who has struggled to find the Rayo training facility, much less play for the club this season, so your opinion on good transfer management should be taken with an incredible amount of salt.

Guler is top, he's young and has a world of potential. It's not a discussion to me. He'll be a key player for years and years if he stays healthy.

    too thin for me.
very easy for defenders to push a side.
at 19 you would think he can put some muscle and weight on.

Guler needs more minutes to develop. He is still very much learning, and I don’t think playing him at RW is his best position. I don’t think we know what his best position is. RCM, CM or CAM?

We have this odd dichotomy of buying young players who need to develop, but a manager who won’t trust them to play in any significant role unless injury to the veterans.

The issue here is, if he's in a good team with good players he plays less, but learns more in terms of how to be a great professional, if he's in a bad team he plays more but works with less qualified people to accentuate his talent.

The healthy way to look at it, is if you're good, you'll eventually play. Odegaard is the exception to that rule and to be honest, up intil maybe 1,5 years, he still couldn't say he's better than Modric. Can he say he's better than Bellingham now?

After Kroos retired it was beyond obvious to anyone with a functioning brain that the team lacked a playmaker who could provide clinical passing with through balls, long balls and dead balls.

Vallecano definitely had an early James "boost" they went on a 5 game streak without a loss when he first arrived and even took points off Atletico with him playing. But the coach stopped playing him, which may help explain why the team is struggles to move up the table.

He had an assist last week in a Copa del Rey game they won and they won again away at Valencia this weekend, so hope is not all lost for normal people who don't expect a player to single handedly turn around a mid table team like Rayo.

I think maybe this season will be Rodrygo his last. His level this season really bad in numbers and injuries. I won’t be surprised if we sell him and go after Haaland as Vini-Haaland-Mbappe trio.. Flo Dream
Maybe Haaland will want to leave due to City situation. Might be a swap.

J Calafat - Do it . Start the process

Well, i said before - if Flo will need cash and we must sell some big player it will be Rodrygo.

He does not have the charisma to be a star, but he can easily reach Yamal's level.

If we had to choose between Mendy and Davies, we would probably pick Davies. However, the club may have a better option in the pipeline.

I can't make a proper comparison/evaluation as I haven't followed Estevao, but if he can easily reach Yamal's current level (which puts Yamal in a career trajectory that is fairly unique), then that's insanely high praise that somewhat borders the implausible. Is he that good, or are you just significantly undervaluing Yamal?

It's hard to make a direct comparison only because Yamal got the chance to play in La Liga from 16 years of age and Estêvão literally could not play in Europe until he turns 18 next year, so how he'd be faring right now in a top European league is still somewhat speculative. Yamal has obviously been outrageously good both club and country. As for the Brazilian, I can say that he had the most goal involvements of anybody in the Brazilian league this past season, and even that came with him missing time from a couple different injuries in the middle of it. He pretty much carried Palmeiras to the last day with a chance still to win the league, he scored some unbelievably clutch goals.

Whether he'll get to this level is another matter, but he has "top-5 player in the world" written all over him. At that point, comparing him with Yamal would just be splitting hairs. I do think one thing that helps put Yamal a little over the top right now is that he has a wicked trivela, which essentially allows him to play-off wing and still whip in low crosses like a traditional on-wing player would. Makes him crazy difficult to play against.

Rodrygo is only going to leave if his starting spot is threatened and I don't think Carlo is sitting him this season. That being said, I'll be surprised if he is still here in 3 yrs. Very average player compared to what we thought he could be.

We've been playing better since shifting back closer to last year's formation, Rodrygo will probably continue to get sufficient playing time because Vini and Mbappé both seem like they'll be dealing with nagging injuries throughout the season, but if we're gonna win the league, it seems most likely we'll need to continue with 4-4-2 or variations that involve four midfielders. It seems like this is the best way to activate Jude's goal scoring.

If he decides to leave, that's his choice. He's had opportunities every season to prove his value, and to be fair, he has done so at times. However, he's often been injured at critical moments, or his performance hasn't met the expectations we or he would have hoped for.

The next coach will probably not be as tied to Rodrygo as Carlo. Rodrygo has been given a lot of rope and has this notion that he should be a starter. His performances suggest that he is a squad player not an undisputed starter. That disconnect between his perception and reality will probably see him leave eventually.
