Never in a million years financially. Pointless idea, and honestly, the player will end up looking short of expectations just like Mbappe, City are going through a horrible phase and he's barely able to really set the tone for them. Have to start accepting that there will not be a new Ronaldo/Messi for an eternity.
I guess do we really think Vinny/Mbappe/Rodrygo will ever work? I think Haaland would be able to replace one of them and be financially a wash in some ways. I’d rather us find a way to get him than Barca, as he’s going to play in Spain at some point.
Why not, they are all talented players, they've barely played together due to injuries and the season is not even halfway as yet, they have just started, they alone are not the reason we have not been playing well, what team invests so much money in young talented playing staff and then decides it's not working after only 4 or 5 months and decides we need a new expensive toy, it's not like we are bottom of the league, i don't get this thinking.......
The moment Haaland moves clubs he can set the bar at being the best paid player in the game. I also sense that your main issue isn't about him joining us and making us better, it's about not allowing him to join another team which never works as a strategy. Players and agents smell that from a mile away.
I’ve always been in favor of signing him, ahead of Mbappe, you can check my posting history. I’d wish we could find a way to get him as I think he would be a monster for us.
I just don't think Haaland is as good as he'll cost, he's really limited in some ways that wouldn't be ideal for us
The moment he has 5 touches in the game and doesn’t score, the regular haters on RMBS will turn on him and call him a fraud etc. It would be inevitable
That is a bit harsh -- the expectation is to put in the work, if the effort is there people are more patient about the end product.
I don't know how'd haaland would perform against low blocks week after week. EPL is more open end to end football, La Liga is a more technical league relying less on physical play. It could end up good or really bad.
All depends on service. Haaland relies on getting service, not dribbling. He used to be a terror on counter attacks at Dortmund but City doesn't do that... so who knows.
If we put our eggs in the Vini (smashing success) and Rodrygo basket then we should have gotten someone that compliments their skill set. Haaland getting five touches all game is fine because of how Vini plays and how Rodrygo should play. Unfortunately we went for someone that needs the ball just as much as our pet project wingers.
I wanted Kane, he's not young but he was probably the closest to what we needed in terms of a Benz replacement
Club spent 35 M plus 25 variables on Endrick. They probably expected to cash in on Rodrygo like Ozil, Di Maria and have Vini, Endrick, Mbappe trio few years down the line if/when Endrick is developed. Not to hurt the feelings of any player FC, but Rodrygo is only an untouchable at RM if he becomes a superstar. That's what history tells us.
Haaland will not be satisfied getting five touches, in what world does a player with that kind of cache and reputation get satisfied being a utility player?
I'd rather have Gyokeres than Haaland at this point. Haaland's workrate and movement in the box is poor. He also sulks if he isn't involved in the buildup, even though he's not good at being involved in the buildup. It points to egocentrism and lack of awareness.
I thought you only liked obscure talent from Serie A or lower? All jokes aside, Gyokeres has the Jovic smell to me.
