That's an assumption, not a fact. All I'm saying is neither player right now deserves to feel confident about his future as a starting lineup player on this team. Fran Garcia has zero goals, zero assists. This isn't some Marceloesque extra playmaker on the field.
I don't know if I trust the training staff with their assessments. They thought Asencio didn't deserve a minute; he's arguably been our best CB so far this season.
Which makes sense considering that we've failed to win every single tough game against big opposition this season, including the one that he's been on the field for.
5 lost this season already. really bad football. Winter window coming soon. Some conclusions: We cannot play with Lucas as our first RB. Mendy form this season far from last season. Tchu is not good enough Rodrygo hardly score this season Too many injuries I don’t know… I have Zero expectations for this season
A cheap deal could work. I mean, Joselu was an absolute success at the same (or similar) age. Rodrygo doesn't seem like he will improve much from this point. Watch Salah going to Barça instead and being a hit.
We have to admit that we are bad at high-profile signings. Kaka, Hazard, James, and Robben did not pan out as expected, with Bale possibly fitting into this category. It took many years before Benzema became an important player. Players like Xabi Alonso, Ozil, or Di Maria, while talented, may not qualify as marquee signings. In this context, Cristiano Ronaldo stands out as the sole success story in nearly two decades. The triumphs mainly stemmed from lesser-known talents. Marcelo, Higuain, Vinícius Junior, and Rodrygo were youthful when they joined. Sergio Ramos was also a teenager when he arrived. Modric wasn't a household name initially. Varane, Navas, Pepe, Casemiro, and Militao were relatively unheralded. Kroos faced underappreciation at his former club. Courtois, Rudiger, and Alaba were secured on free transfers.
He wants 4 years at top level wages. If he'd be up for a cheap deal Liverpool would have given him that already. From what i've heard from people that go to the games and talk to the writers there, his agent is even turning down frontloaded deals, it's either the full service, or nothing. Liverpool are fully committed in keeping him, it's that 4 years at the kind of money he's on is a massive reach when he's 37.
It also makes more sense for Barca to reactivate the Nico Williams pursuit than do anything Salah related really.
Mendy started off great and then was injured off and on for about 2 years, then came back and did well until the renewal and now we are right back to the form issues that had us interested in signing a starting level LB. Fran just isn't Real Madrid quality but for what we paid it's not even worth discussing. Mendy OTOH now has a new deal and was tens of millions of dollars.
But why would they want a player that excels in a position where their biggest prospect since Messi excels? Seems like a massive waste of money tbh. If anything they should be looking at a Lewa replacement and a LW. I wouldn't touch that RW unless it's for a good squad player, if they even need one.
Lewandowski plays in a position lacking options, Salah plays in a position that is just overflowing with talent.

Still, I don't think they will turn down him if the right conditions are met. Salah is a great player and marketing asset, I believe.
I hope they do it. Even Cristiano Ronaldo, the arguably greatest athlete in the history of the sport, aged like bread.
Robben was more than decent for us and you have to be an absolute mad man to put Bale anywhere near a list of players that didn't pan out.
