Hoping for the best man, but this centre back and right back situation looks like it has the potential to absolutely fcuk our season, that’s two seasons in a row we’re in this crap situation. Let’s hope this Asencio turns out as good as possible, I’ve missed the Milan and Osasuna game so missed his debut.
Well because we aren't even managing our roster well. Cravajal just got ran off a cliff as well as some of the others who finally physically broke down. Had Carlo been a manager who manages his roster... meaning giving key rest to starters by using these youth players in a mix-and-match for our lesser matches things could never different
Carlo has a history of over playing his starting eleven and not rotating. Then people are surprised when players get physically worn out and the team falls off a cliff. This isn't new. He isn't always given the best options, but his man management has always been poor.
This. A few minutes here and there could earn us millions. Barcelona are excellent in this, give youngsters minutes and build up the hype, then sell an Oleguer as the next La Masia Messi regen.
Hope his performance is much better that John Abraham acting i think it is better to wait until summer as new manager would decide on the new signing - but i am expecting at least 3 - 4 new signing in summer out of that list Tcho- injured Alaba - would actually be back to full fitness in mid march 25
People saying we should not sign anyone are moving mad. As I said last time even before Carva and Mili's injuries we are playing with fire by not signing anyone and now we got burned. God forbid Rudiger falls.. Again people are counting on Alaba and he has yet to return. Carlo has run some players in the damn ground as well We can loan in players. Free agents are a thing. The biggest problem in my eyes to be fair is that during the winter market 80% of the available options would be shit but desperate times calls for desperate measures. Maybe loan in 1 at the minimum CB veteran and a fullback.
Yeah and it was the point I was making when people were wondering why we were struggling for form. All teams that won last year; meaning they chased every result to the end (fatigue) have struggled this season. We are falling apart even more so because our manager literally refuses to use others unless injury forces him to. We needed injury to force him to use Camavinga and drop a poor form Kroos years ago so we could make that amazing run that CL year. Love Carlo but that is his significant weakness. He won't mix in the younger talent, he rarely spells the stars.
A very good argument could be made that playing Militao non-stop post injury contributed to this relapse -- I'm not sure what the club was thinking. Similarly if we expect Alaba to come right back into lineup when he returns we'd be asking for another disaster.
You mean you don't think Rudiger can play all 90 minutes of every game this season? Don't worry, we will soon find out since that is probably Carlo's plan.
🚨 JUST IN: Everything indicates that Loren Aguado will be the player to cover for Lucas Vázquez’s absence. @marca pic.twitter.com/AVcVZHZBn5— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) November 13, 2024 https://www.marca.com/futbol/real-madrid/2024/11/13/loren-aguado-perfil-encaja-planes-ancelotti.html 🚨 NEW: Rafa Marin is a profile that can fit in January. @JLSanchez78 pic.twitter.com/upJAhF7rAf— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) November 14, 2024
Difference is you are saying we should sign garbage vets whom first division clubs have no use and hence available on loan in January while others said play Raul Asencio and Jacobo Ramon who have talent to hold their own among RM squad and experience can only be gained if given a chance at the highest level. Carlo has no excuse not to use Raul Asencio now after the Osasuna performance. No thanks to washed big names on their last legs like Hummels and Ramos. Former can't even get playing at Roma. Loan/free agent market mostly have such bottom of the barrel stuff. Few exceptions like Rafa Marin who was good enough to start for Alaves but can't get into Napoli as Conte doesn't rotate CBs at all.
Militao injured the other knee. At some point it's ridiculous that we're supposed to bubble wrap players. This is their job. They get paid to play.
Just get creative. I don’t expect a stud signing in January if the club isn’t willing to splash cash anyway. A short term loan for a player like Marin doesn’t break the bank and a long term agreement isn’t necessarily needed. Makes sense to me.
And we didn't bubble wrap Pepe after his ACL in 2009-10. Neither did Pool with VVD after ACL when he played 34 league games in 2021-22 season. I remember an injury scare for Militao after his return last year. A recent report came out that Militao feared he tore his ACL vs Celta, but it was false alarm and then this horrible injury happened 22 days later. Maybe Militao's agressive style of play isn't sustainable for his body just like what happened to Ledley King. You can't bubble wrap starters. Since Militao is unreliable health-wise, gotta find another starter alongside Rudiger next season.
You tear the other ACL because you favor your "good" knee. He hadn't gotten over the mental hurdle yet and was still playing with one leg.
We sold Marin for 12 ME. Maybe offer Napoli 3 ME for loan and an option to buy for 12 ME in the summer if he does well here. Napoli has no European football so Conte unlikely to rotate his starting CBs playing one game per week. Marin's value will only tank from Napoli perspective if he doesn't play.
Don’t be surprised if the club has to sign at least 3 CB’s this summer if Alaba proves unreliable. Rudiger himself has high mileage and is getting up there in age. Just hoping the Castilla boys are up for the challenge.
🚨 BREAKING: Alphonso Davies has decided to join Real Madrid as a free agent in 2025.Deal PRACTICALLY DONE! @Rodra10_97 pic.twitter.com/HRVKGAOhXq— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) November 14, 2024 🚨 BREAKING: Negotiations between Real Madrid and Trent Alexander-Arnold are ADVANCING WELL. The club now believes he will join as a free agent in summer 2025. @Rodra10_97 pic.twitter.com/RrcBDbEpL4— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) November 14, 2024
We may have also included a buy back option like we do with other academy players. Seems like a no brainer move and surely one Marin would jump at.
