But he is physical, when you see him force his way past defenders you see it. But he has more finesse than many expect, agreed on that. He has just been stellar for Sporting since day 1 last season when he arrived. Brilliant signing.

I think he leaves in the summer because with Amorim going now, Sporting won’t want to lose Gyokeres as well as it could basically give away the title that they are lined up well for right now.

But he is the opposite of Jovic in terms of effort and personality. Gyokeres is like a Ronaldo, continuously hungry for goals and to make stuff happen. Energy for days.

I could have said it better, my concern is looking at numbers in 1 league doesn't translate very well to La Liga nevermind that we play a very fluid version of football and it takes a really great soccer IQ and internal fortitude to succeed here.

??? Chill tf out we're not Rinus Michels' Ajax. Joselu had 20 G/A for us last season.

Maybe you could try reading my post... Joselu had already shown he can perform in La Liga—he scored 16 goals and had 2 assists for Espanyol in the season prior to joining us. I'd be fine with buying a CF with a good track record in La Liga but you won't find many teams in Spain willing to sell to us.

I very much disagree, but from the interviews and everything he seems like a player that is looking for something special to perform the way he currently does.

Gyokeres turns 27 next summer. He's a year older than Darwin Nunez with similar strength and weakness. Paying 200 ME for Haaland is less risky than 100 ME+ for Gyokeres even considering way higher wages. Haaland is two years younger btw.

No one is paying 100 million for Gyokeres. It’ll be like 60-75.

Isn't that the same price that was paid for Jovic too?

His release clause is 100 ME, I heard. But maybe Sporting Lisbon are not good at fleecing unlike Benfica. They sold Ramos, Nunez for 80 M which was the buyout clause and Gyokeres has far more hype right now.

Jovic was 5 years ago as well. Frankfurt sold Muani for 75 ME in 2023. Selling teams have caught up to market inflation.

Sporting are definitely not as seasoned as Benfica and Porto at fleecing teams. That’s one reason why I don’t see the release clause being met. The other is that I think Sporting probably has a deal with Gyokeres that if he stayed another season (this season) they’d probably not hold out for the full clause this coming summer. That’s speculatiion but he could‘ve left last summer and he didn’t make any noise or anything. I was surprised.

His age and trajectory to get to this point also make me think it’ll be less. We’ll see hat happens, I just know he has been stellar for Sporting and he'll be sorely missed when he leaves.

Pride is one thing, but I’d sign Sergio Ramos just to help with the mentality these young kids need.

yes he’s past his prime but I’d rather have him than Vallejo.

Van Dijk's contract expires in 7 months. Not a big fan of his back-footed/retreat defending style but he could be a good option to look at.

    Ramos is my #1 tbh.

I’m saying bring him on now just to get us through Jan. He’s not a real viable option for the rest of the season. He’s totally cooked.

Yea. Pool offering him highest tier wages.

We need to sign young CBs. VVD has a lot of milege on his body, had ACL once and RM will have brutal schedule every year. I wouldn't bet on his legs lasting here.

I do not get the Porro rumors, he is signed until 2028.

And I think Davies is going to ask for a mega salary and end up in the EPL

Can Ramos sign and play immediately since he is without a club?

Yes. RM has the right to sign a substitute player due to harsh injury like of Carvajal before January any player who is Free. Just like Barca did with their GK

You can sign any free agent as long there's a roster spot open. RM will have two open with Carva and Militao out. Castilla players can play 8 games or so and have to be registered with senior team after that.
