Well Brahim is a Madrid level player and he was getting decent playing time and you could argue that he deserves even more.

I'll say this. I have more faith in Bellingham finishing the chances that Mbappe had the past few games.

Unfortunately he's not even smelling a goal scoring opportunity right now. That's how out of it he is.

Good thing we have other great players on the team that score goals and goals and show him how it's done.

We could swap Mbappe out with Bellingham and noticably improve, we'd have runs, aerial threat, a body in box and work off the ball. We're extremely unbalanced with Mbappe and worse we're getting nothing for it and limiting Camavinga and Rodrigo's minutes.

Bellingham at the moment is slower than a double decker bus. Whether it's fatigue, injury issues or whatever, the missile that Jude was when he arrived isn't firing, and hasn't been firing for quite a worrying while.

You'd feel that even by sheer coincidence he'd have a dominant performance but it truly seems that at a certain point last season we started seeing diminishing returns. I hope we don't have a Kaka/Torres situation on our hands where a player aged overnight.

True but otoh he's done it before and in a more limited role I think he'd be fine. The 50mm man can go sit down as far as I'm concerned. I'd rather be playing with guys that arsed about what happens on pitch as much as they are about what's happening on social media.

See this is where you lose me, because this has become a space where we hate Mbappe rather than look for serious improvement.

I am absolutely sure if Mbappe would have a career ending injury this place would erupt in joy. That's the vibe I'm getting.

I'm just asking him to run but you can frame it however you want, it's not unreasonable. I never said score, I said put in a shift.

People would erupt in joy if he can start winning games on his own irrespective of how shitty the team is, that's what great players do.

So basically everybody else gets a pass to suck or what? This thing took on a weird turn at a point that i can't follow.

The entire defense was in shambles, they aren't make a wish foundation kids.

Yeah Mbappe is not immune to criticism but when everyone else is sucking out there it’s hard to judge anyone. I mean by the same metric, we should have the same expectation from Vini and Jude who are both supposed to be Ballon D’or contenders (higher than Kylian in the rankings incidentally) and have been here longer. Even the usually consistent Fede and Rudiger have taken a massive step back. Honestly blaming Mbappe for our issues is an easy cop out at this stage and is surface level thinking. Our issues are much much deeper.

Personally as frustrating as it is, I’ll reserve judgement on any of our players, they are neither as bad as they look at the moment nor as good as we sometimes make them out to be.

Our main issue is midfield IMO due to the way Carlo likes to set up his teams and he’s failing to adapt to the existing personnel. Until something changes, jury is still out for me.

there is no question that the team lacks leadership right now and as much as I'd like to say Belligham is a leader, all the complaining about calls is incompatible with leading this team

The Athletic did an interesting podcast about him and i was suprised how much they all alluded that he's a system player moreso than a player than makes the system. Including people that worked with him.

I left with a new perspective on the player.

    Gyokeres.

One thing about him is he works his tail off for the team. Runs a ton, wins duels, does dirty work but can also finish. There is a hunger to his game that’s fun to watch. Really enjoyable player to root for. I don’t think he has the class of some of the best strikers from years past, but he can Will himself to a good goal return on a quality team.

What i found interesting is that he doesn't look at himself as a physical player, more one that will do it if you ask him to. It seems like he's being completely misprofiled by a lot of people simply due to how he looks like.

No, but it sees like him joining his coach at ManUtd in the summer is a good bet. Buyout clause of 80 mil.

Oh, so the player that would have fit our wing projects in Vini and Rodrygo. Got it.

I'd be shocked if Madrid brings in another attacker in the next 2-3 seasons.

It would scream the current project completely failed.
