I think Tchouemeni will be sold. Camavinga moved full time in DM Bellingham and Valverde as CM Wirtz as the AM behind Vini and Mbappe
I disagree. When the play is not in front of him, he struggles immensely with his awareness. I guess its something that Carlo can work on in training, but as a 25 year old professional, I'm not entirely sure that's Carlo's fault. Maybe they can get him those cool spyglasses where you can see behind you. He'd have good passing ability for CB and I think he'd feel far more comfortable with the play in front of him.
Ah, Mbappe is gone already? We have a proven track record of Bellingham in attack. Why mess with the recipe.
Ha. I meant Mbappe. We could get a lot for Tchoumeni and invest elsewhere. Sooner or later I think Bellingham natural postion will be further back
Theres a general lack of coordination by everyone but at DM its critical. Still, if you came at 22, played three years under the same coach and you show zero improvement in your game, then its a bigger problem imo.
Tchou may change with change of coach - it think with very tactical coach Tchou would become more agile and mobile
Or maybe he's a dummy? Unfortunately, not everyone can learn or has the will to learn at the same rate. Valverde had no problem figuring out the positional thing and now he's twice the player he was under Zidane. I know no one likes Deschamps, but Tchou is just as ineffective for France too. Maybe he was just killing it in the UberEats league like Mbappe?
I've read the scouting reports on him from his Monaco days and believe me, he is no dummy. If Carlo leaves at the end of the season, I very much doubt someone like Xabi will want to get rid of him. Also, Fede is lost out there. Cama isn't progressing as many of us had hoped and Bellingham is regressing. As for Deschamps, AI would do a far better job than him at coaching France. This idiot is not a benchmark.
Agreed; it's clear where the problem lies. Raphinha was also considered a flop but has been reborn under Flick, Rodri was nothing special and has become WC under Pep, etc. Coach plays a HUGE role. He decides everything and gives the player instructions on how to improve their game.
Yes. I think many of us just feel bad about it because Carlo is such a classy gentleman and genuinely admirable person. But this team needs a fresh perspective on how to play together.
A new coach will want the roster to fit into his ideas. Every report about Xabi claims having a say in transfer activity is a requirement. He requests players by name or by positional need. Amorim apparently failed in talks with Liverpool because he insisted on having decision power. Carlo is comfortable and works with what's there. I am unsure the young coaches are as flexible.
At most Madrid would probably promise Xabi one or two of his preferred signings. Three at most. The team is already pretty stacked and is just lacking reinforcements at the backline and a midfield controller. Most Madrid coaches never really did have that much of a control on the roster makeup.
1852456658095812680 is not a valid tweet id 1852820194718368215 is not a valid tweet id Last game 4 goals… each shot of him is very powerful. What do u think about him ? RM level ? Just think about RM chances vs Barca.. he would crash them
Probably the former. Madrid still has that pull. Specially for him. I’m willing to wager he’ll be more flexible with his demands when talking to uncle Flo.
Mourinho got players he wanted and he had (relative) success with them. Someone in the board should remind Florentino of that. I'm aware Carlo is the embodiment of Florentino's idea of a perfect coach, but picking subordinates based on their likelihood to not exhibit dissent is a corrupt practice and always leads to suboptimal choices. Coaches shouldn't be yes men to presidents, and they shouldn't be babysitters to players. Its not too late to change this course. As said already, the core of the team is already there, if Xabi wants a couple of more players that suit his vision, just give them to him. Nobody would want an overhaul given the quality we already have. Klopp wanted half our midfielders for Liverpool before we signed them (Tchouameni, Bellingham, Valverde...) ffs
Someone should remind you how desperate the club was back then. Real Madrid was considered a toxic work environment. A lot of coaches simply declined.
Indeed, my hope is we don't wait until we become desperate in order to give a manager the freedom he needs. Florentino's job shouldn't be to evaluate player talent and decide whether to bring them in, but it definitely should be to evaluate coach talent and decide whether to bring them in.
So you want RM to sign a striker that we only seen him playing at the Primeira League under one coach, when you already have Kyalin that plays as a striker and Endrick that needs to get more minutes. Lets not forget you also will need to compete with Arsenal/United/Chelsea, 3 clubs that are missing a excellent striker and got no problem to pay more than 100 mil(his release clause) and higher salary than we would.
