I cant imagine we buy Saliba. We never bought a defender for 100M€.If Gvardiol costed 90M€ and was bought from Leipzig than Saliba would probably mean a new record CB for around 100M€..cant see that happen under Flo realistically
Clear pattern now is rich clubs are willing to risk big name players leave for free rather than cash in with a year left. Alaba, Rudiger and Mbappe left on bosman. Players also seem comfortable with this option given TAA and Davies hasn't renewed yet though long term contract mitigates injury risk factor. Because free agency gives them hefty signing bonus option to counter that. And even if they wanna renew, parent clubs might get more desperate with their offer when the alternative is losing them for nothing at their prime age. It's moot to discuss signing the possibility of any world class player with multiple years in his contract. Even mid-sized club like Spurs chose to sell Kane only when the alternative was losing him for free a year later.
Still a very good player though, although i don't see him as an upgrade to Toni or Eder, as i always say the reality is no player out there is mistake free, in the end they are all human, when i read fans complaining about individual mistakes and claiming they wish we had this or that player i find it a bit odd, the difference for me between the best players and the ordinary ones isn't that the best ones make no mistakes it's that they make fewer
Ideal transfer window next year would be. Zubimendi for long range passing and build up correction. Since Modric and Ceballos are leaving we have space and wage bill for that. Trent is a no brainer on boss man. Such a unique player on the ball. If we can get either Miguel Guttirez or Davies for left back that would be good move but not priority. Another wishful luxury would be Bastoni who could some times play left back as well.
Saliba is quality. I'm not just saying this as an Arsenal fan but I noticed some people tend to think no player who's not in Madrid is actually not good enough for Madrid. And these players are perfectly fine and would fit like a glove. Nitpick is what I'm saying.
Why would I want a player like Trent to leave Liverpool if I was their fan. Trent is unique creator playing left back. He is almost like a Beckham type player playing right back. The range and vision of his passes are generational. Yes , he isn't the best in one on one but just like Marcelo his offensive game is too good that his defensive deficiencies can be forgiven.
Your profile on the right hand side listed Liverpool. I was just curious. PS: How come I don't have Real Madrid logo on my profile?
I am not saying he's a bad player - he just had a bad game all round and he's not immune to having them.

Tbh Laporte in January makes so much sense that I think it will happen if the player wants it and if the Saudi club isn’t looking for an unreasonable fee. A centre back is an absolute minimum. I also like the idea of adding Juanlu and him taking over Lucas in the long run, a depth option for the future.
I don't know the other CB options, but they are young and perhaps. not ready to contribute immediately. So Laporte seemed realistic. I meant that the new CBs might become our starter if we have one more injury in the backline. The 18-year-old Vitor Reis does not seem ready.
Should have got Hermoso. I think we need more Spanish players in the team (for a reason that I can't specify or actually exists).
Same, but I think the club has other ideas. Anyway those tweets and reports mean nothing to me and sound like they're supposed to be distraction from what's going on with the team and the new star player.
It’s pretty nice that we’re on the precipice of potentially getting talents like Trent and/or Davies on a free. It’s an interesting phenomenon that we convince these players to play out their deals. Sure, they will get a nice bonus, but they must also endure scorn from their former clubs.
I think most players are going in this direction now, hence why teams like Bayern and PSG have already proposed a "compensation" to be introduced when a player moves clubs at the end of his contract. Football is not a real place.
