Fall? Man he entered the perfect header storm...Bocanegra was it? And Convey flying in from the center of the field.

(as an aside, somebody faulted Convey for going for a ball that was Esky's, but if convey had gotten to the ball alone, his header would've had incredible power - he was flying)

he went down on his stomach, not moving, looked to me like he got knocked out...clearly not in the game afterwards, even if it was for just a few minutes. I'm glad he had the sense to just sit down and get out of there before getting hurt worse.

And I was really excited to see what he could do.

Grade 2 concussion - not sure what that means in terms of recovery, but after watching the replay he landed completely upside down, with all his weight on the back of the head/neck area. He had no clue whatsoever where he was after the fall. Told the team doctor he was in San Fran. Hopefully a speedy recovery for him. No more injuries dammit...

Well, at least he'll have a good laugh about the San Francisco answer!

And they let him keep playing!? The team doctors are about as good as the players!

So much for him being an East Coast guy...

He probably mistook the pieces of turf for flowers in his hair.

Hope it was nothing more serious ... it could have been worse (be glad it wasn't on one of the fake-grass fields).

Maybe he was in San Francisco the last time he got rammed that hard. I think there are Freudian implications in his answer. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Good to see he'll be ok though!

  13. I was there and it was one of the nastiest shots I had ever seen. I thought he broke his neck. Couldn't believe he stayed in. Glad he had enough sense to sit down a few minutes later. Poor decisions on the doctor/trainer to let him continue playing.

Hoep to see more of him - the far side.

Rip Taylor - and I can't believe I didn't think of it first.

    Solid as always, Lowecifer.

I was really looking forward to seeing him play on Sat. night, but now I can just hope that he will be ready for the game against Colorado!! Man, just what we need, more injuries. Please, not a repeat of last year!!!!

You wouldn't see him anyway. We only play with one forward, Quaranta, on the road.

Well Mike and Andy tend to like to take pictures of the actual play, not the turf 5 yards behind it.

If Esky did get his bell rung, I don't want to see him play next week. Let him go a couple of weeks without symtoms before throwing him back in.

It's been a couple of days now, and nothing in the Post or on the DCU website about Esky's condition. Has anyone heard anything?

That was a nasty fall. Channel 4 showed it Saturday night and I was able to tape it and slow it down. He's lucky it was only a concussion. It looked like he could have broken his neck.
