He clearly was doing that on purpose during his intro with the super smile that he maintained while he said his name and hometown.

Now twellman and noonan's - that was just plain strange.

Very funny, I like the Noonan/Twellman thing too. Weirder the better in my opinion.

Was the goofy hand wave during the post-game live interview? If so, he was waving to me and Brad, well mostly, Brad because he was chanting his name.

Brad was hoping you heard the chant during the interview. :D

I actually did hear him during the interview. I remember thinking there were only a few rev fans there, but they were loud enough to get picked up by the microphones.

But I'm pretty sure Matt's goofy waving was either during or immediately after the game. He was near the net.

ESPN did a little intro thing with some of the Revs (no DC?), like they do with the NFL games - they have an individual shot of each player and they introduce themselves ("Tedy Bruschi, Arizona Wildcats").

They did about 6 revs and most of the were pretty goofy. Reis spoke normally, but had this really strange, goofy grin. Parkhurst and Riley did it straight. Shalrie had about 6 names (Shalrie ... David ... ... Joseph, ... Grenada), Khano was normal, then Noonan did his, "Pat Noonan, St. Louis", but there was an extra pair of arms moving around behind him. He steps aside and Twellman is right there grinning, "Taylor Twellman, St. Louis", and he keeps moving his arms around like he's doing some cheerleading thing. I don't know, maybe a "Billiken" thing?

They did the entire starting XI, and have done so for other teams on the Thursday broadcasts. I thought it was funny how about half of them introduced themselves by which college they attended.

Also loved the highlight reel of Heaps playing college basketball poorly, after the comment from Dave O'Brien about how Jay grew up wanting to play for the Revs, which means that our #6 must be psychic, what with the team not being established until he was 19 and all.

But even that's subject to change.

Part of me wishes Reis would have introduced himself as Alecko Eskandarian, I mean, if he can do Fangoso...

He was rhythmically clapping and his arms looked like he was auditioning for a Bangles video

I like that the players are making light of the intro thing, in contrast to the self important NFL guys who are all tough and serious. But that little thing with Taylor and Pat seemed a bit...wrong.

eh, :( I missed the intro. But does anybody remember Reis doing the moonwalk? He did it post-game after the 2006 ECC. After the big celebrations, when they all had their coats on. Reis did the moonwalk or something like that, but I don't think he knew the camera was on him... ;)

We need an MLS blooper reel; or MLS Gonna-Make-You-Laugh reel. Either one's fine with me.

Yea, interesting that some said their college, some said their hometown. And what is wierd, they only do it for one team - maybe that was because of the delay due to the volleyball game.

Great call UP - I thought that was hilarous. The only thing I can think is DOB got Heaps confused with Parkhurst - see, he is so busy trying to throw out all these stories, they are all getting jumbled up into his head.

Yea, I like that they are joking around with it - you could hear someone off camera laughing after Taylor was done.....but I agree it was definitely wierd.

Yeah, it was pretty great. Couldn't really hear Reis. Did notice the goofy grin though. Good stuff. Glad to see they're having fun.
