Driving - only about 105 MPH in a rental. As a passenger - 125 in an IROC (this is Jersey!) and 120 in a Shelby Mustang.
Frong seat passenger going about 135/140 in the slow lane, getting passed, on a German highway in a Benz. Nearly scared the pants off of me. after that about 125/130 as a passenger on a tiny two lane U.S road in a 91/92 Camaro converted to police car, my nutso cop dad was driving. After that about 115 in a 72 (I think) Dodge Dart, and about same speed another time in a I wanna say 2001 camaro on the same stretch of road as the police car ride. After that about 105 in my own 69 firebird with a wimpy straight six (4.1 liter overhead cam, trying finding a new starter for that, arseholes). edit: these are all MPH
Speed: 270 km/h (then hit traffic, thankfully not literally) Location: Autobahn banter Car: Alpina B12 5.7 Coupé (BMW 850CSi)
143 mph in my dads RS6 on the military road between Newcastle and Carlisle. I have never been as scared in all my life, after that experiance I never want to go more than 100mph in any kind of car.
Over 120 in a '73 Plymouth Fury with a 400 engine. I grew up in rural Nebraska, so it wasn't hard to find an open stretch of flat, straight highway.
Passenger car on public roads: 145 indicated (probably in the mid 130s actual) in my rich Lesbian Aunt's 2003 Porsche 911 GT2. Dumbest thing I ever did, but it was on a backroad in New Hampshire, so no danger to anybody but me (and my Dad who was in the right seat). Racecar: 178 actual (confirmed via speedtrap) through the Daytona trioval during an SCCA regional race
135 in a 93 BMW 325is as a senior in high school racing some guy on a suburban road on Long Island New York... 142 as a passenger on a honda CBR900RR after I got off the bike I threatened to kill my friend (literally) I've never been so scared in my entire life. But the best was approximately 120 driving a Lamborghini Diablo in the mountains just outside Reggio Emilia Italy.. Obviously for that car it's not so fast but it was too cool to drive...
God bless the autobahn... Funnily enough, I'm going to the desert/sticks on Tuesday and my friend at the local college tells me that on the highways, there can be nothing for miles, so local speed freaks and kids supe up the cars and blitz down the sandy motorways at well over 150mph. Most of them are in crappy state though - unlike the Autobahn.
I've been on the autobahn system, but my dad was driving and I don't think we went faster than 110. We were in a Benz of some sort. Currently I'm driving a 2006 Mazda 3s, which I have taken on empty freeways up to 110. I don't do it normally, but a few times I just 'had' to see what it felt like. It feels like going 60, only everything's going by faster Someday I might see if there's a speed governor or whatnot on it. Also while driving my 2001 Ford Escape through the great salt flats in Utah I went 100 for over an hour, and with next to no risk of being pulled over
In a car, the fastest was 135mph in my 300ZX on Rt. 17, there a stretch we all the autobahn because there's no place for the police to hide. On a motorcycle it was 152mph on a Ducati 999 on the same stretch of Rt. 17, my buddy tricked the hell out of the thing. Fastest I was ever pulled over for was 90 in my dad's Mustang GT back in high school. The Trooper was a friend of my dads so he let me go. I have yet to get a speeding ticket.
~110 mph - 180 kph on my '86 Renault 11 TXE. My father said he went over 200kph with it on the highway. But my attempt was not on a proper highway (we don't have real highways in Brittany, but at least all roads are free) at night, with heavy rain and strong side gusts of winds, the car wasn't going straight. That was stupid. Never tried again. I rather have fun passing corners at around 60mph on the coastal road !
160 mph in a modified NSX, 175 as a passenger in a 911 Turbo, had my old Corrado topped out at 140 many times, a couple times on a somewhat winding two lane road. The rest were on straight, flat, and remote sections of interstate. I was reeeeally dumb with cars when I was younger. Lucky not to get caught, luckier to be alive.
As the driver: 150 mph (empty autobahn in eastern germany with daddy`s Mercedes Benz E 500) As a passenger: about 170mph (in a so called "Renntaxi" ("racing taxi") on Eurospeedway Lausitz, a racing circuit. A professional driver took people along in a 500PS racing car for some money. That was insane.)
Have a stage 2 HPA Motorsport Golf R32 and tops out at 202 mph and speeding to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds. Other than that got 94 mph out of my Toyota Starlet 1.3 and a few months later with 199,000 miles on the clock the engine blew and radiator burst so i sold it for 150 euro.
