how do you wear your predator tongue?

I leave the top holes unlaced. I also cut the strings, because I think it looks weird with strings tied around the shoe. I also took ye 'ol thread and needle and sewed the elastic band to be smaller, so the tongue stays down better because i wear it under the front studs. So, to sum it all up, I wear them exactly like Becks.

these picks and convo once again prove that predator islands are a gimmick

if they were really that important/effective why would Beckham cover most of the vamps. he manages incredible swerve with the plain leather tongue piece it seems.

when i wore mania preds i actuallt cut the tongue off (like Del Piero did in WC2002) gave max exposure to pred islands.

 

I guess i wear my preds kinda like becks. i dont lace throught he top two holes and i wear my tungue down really low, but i kinda shift it to the outside so its slanted, exposing the pred islands.

 

I wear them the normal way, I guess like Zidane, I never really noticed. However, I think I'm going to cut the laces, since they are WAAAAAAAAY too long, and I hate looping them around the bottom of the shoes, especially outdoors.

Rather than bothering with sewing machine etc, i just tie a knot in the elastic, hence making it smaller so it can fold down easier
lokks just the same as if i'd sewn them, but
a)it didnt take the hassle of using a sewing machine etc
b)it takes 3o seconds
c)and i didnt have to lose any of my street cred having to use a sewing machine, i mean, c'mon girls!

And beckham237, aint they the birds version of the preds. They look pretty swish, but i saw in a catalog the exact same version, but it said ladies bove it....

 

FYI, it's not that hard to take pics of things and post them on the internet. For many people it's no trouble at all, and I feel it enriches the experience when someone goes the extra mile to add a little visual interest to their post (even if they are just bragging )

 

no there are differences between the mine and the womens version
A)the islands arwe silver on the womens
B)if you compare the bottoms all the silver parts on the womens is black on mine and all the black is silver on mine.



and i just had my mother do it for me I CANT USE SEWING MACHINE nor do I intend to learn

 

I guess I just wear my tongue the regular way but push it to the side. I need the most coverage I can get on my feet b/c I'm a goal keeper so I just wear it normal.

 

I just wear my tongue normal. I think it's more comfortable rather than it pulled down the whole boot.

 

Yeah, I had the same problem. It felt like my shoe didn't stay on my foot as well as it was designed to.

 

the mass-marketed predators that you'd get out of your corner soccer store or off www.soccer.com werent meant to be worn like beckhams. Beckhams tounges are extended, notice that there is no cloth shown on is.

They are meant to be worn like they come, laced up all the way

i wear them after the 1st set of front blades

or sometimes even in the midsole, doens't make a difference

he has a whole different tongue though. that cloth is just the part that touches the top of your foot before you fold over

 

I think Becks got this same tongue and just like every boot in the market right now. Yes, I do wear mine like Becks just because it looks cool and i dont want to tear/break my elastic band so soon if i wear my tongue the normal position. If I pull it down, i wont stretch it too much

 

yea but just cus he has the tounge made longer for him doesnt mean that the predators sold in mass shouldnt be worn like that.when you buy a shoe they dont tell you how to wear the tounge you wear the shoe like you want.Exept the totals cus the tounge is sewn down so you dont have much choice.

 

yes, he does have a little cloth showing, but get your tounge that far, and see how much is showing. A couple inches. Beckhams tounges are longer, you guys try to imitate him bu undoing a couple holes with the laces, and you lose stability. Beckham has his laces strung through all of them. Perhaps you beckham wannabes should get an extended tounge rather than undo the holes in your boots.

 

Again your wrong look at the pic again the top 2 holes are undone on his shoes.



the cloth on mine is like maybe 1 inch down.About the same as becks in that pic.does he even have an extended tounge?

 

Any of you remove the elastic on the tongue..?

To me the tongue stays down properly even without the elastic...

 

beckham's tongue is a whole different shape, i have a poster that shows it quite well..lemme take a pic.
