I know I said this about Endrick and I've changed my mind now but I'm very meh about Estevao.

I'm guessing Flo wants to catch all wonderkids and see which ones come good i.e Vini and Rodrygo.

Interesting they’d see Arda as a pure CM though I guess I can see why. But that makes going after Mastantuono even more curious? Isn’t he a pure CM so far?

That'd be Chelsea actually. We only go for specific targets. Also why would you be meh on Estevao who's helping his team win games at 17? Just hate watching?

We are not gonna break world record for transfer fees like Zidane, CR7, Bale etc anymore. Neymar, Coutinho transfer fees were brutal and we can't afford signing from PL clubs for crazy fees. Hazard cost so much despite contract situation and age because it's Chelsea.

So the clear plan is to sign proven players on bosman, or for cut price when they have a year left and sign young players and develop them rather than wait for their price to sky rocket at rich clubs.

The Estevao thing, i wouldn't give it another thought. To me that plainly looks like tactics to get a bidding war going or to drive up the price. His agent (also Roque's agent) did criticize Barcelona last week so maybe that relationship isn't as strong as we were led to believe and his plan is to start opening up the field and see what happens. He might end up being better than Roque and Endrick but we gotta remember, we can't have every young hotshot talent out there.

The River Plate kid is 16 right, so he will need to stay in South America until he's 18, right?

If Juni and the club thinks he can be starter material in the future, i don't mind spending the money now (it's not my money, i know). If Davies isn't in the plans for this summer, that leaves Yoro the only "real" potential transfer spending on top of the signing fee for Mbappe.

Just revisited Pep's unprovoked moaning when we signed Vini in 2017 whom City were also interested in. Market was gonna change anyways as PSG was preparing to invoke Neymar 's 225 ME buyout clause the same summer.

Pep like the hypocrite he is went on to sign Gab Jesus next summer leaving him on loan at Palmeiras until January. Fast forward, Vini and Rodrygo play key roles in knocking City out twice in three years. :D

Yea, Franco turns 18 in August 2025 so guess he will move to Europe then. Kroos, Modric and Ceballos might be gone by then so maybe we won't loan him out. He's already playing for River Plate senior team.

If we don't go for Estevao, I'd rather he ends up at Chelsea than Barca. He will probably be a great threat to Conference League or Europa League teams at Boehly's Chelsea.

Mastantuono is 16 but he has an Italian passport, so he could actually move to Europe right now, although that of course would be ill-advised and Madrid shouldn't do that for a few reasons, not the least of which being they probably want to (re-)establish good relations with River Plate for future academy products coming from there so it doesn't make sense to force someone to Europe yet when there's still a lot of learning still to do back home.

I've said my part already earlier today regarding the Estêvão development, that I can rationalize most of the news but the current reported transfer fee doesn't make sense when compared to Endrick. But as @Saeta Rubia (rather rudely but necessarily) pointed out a while back, his agent is an ex-Barcelona employee and massive fan of the club, overcoming that obstacle was always likely going to be the biggest hurdle. Like, unless Estêvão literally says "I want to play for Madrid, let me sign that contract" (or something to that effect), his agent seems likely to do everything he can to prevent that from happening.

Lol another busted plan for barca. Seriously every Time they aré about to do something right, they go thenother direction AND do It wrong. If Estevao doesnt enf up at barca, ITS a complete failure from their part. Wey dont actually NEED to sign much for the next decade

We had not heard any team linked with him other than Barcelona and a link with Real Madrid recently. Now we are hearing England is an option, Bayern is an option. So the field has been widened by his reps to either get him to the best possible destination or to put more pressure on Barcelona to pay up.

What??? It's completely normal not to be impressed by a player. That's not hate.

Yamal helps Barcelona win games, and I'm completely meh about him. Same for Pedri, Gavi, Cunti, etc.

I think she meant meh like unimpressed as she gave Endrick example before and changed mind on him later on. You are meh on Yamal because he plays for Barca right? On a rational standpoint, he's a good talent and gave us a lot of trouble in Clasico.

Yeah, whether it's wise or not on my part (almost certainly not wise, lol), I'm gonna stick to my propaganda campaign until Estêvão's signed his contract and it's definitively not with us. Interest can be dropped and interest can be resumed, until pen goes to paper anything can happen. If nothing else, I need to see figures quoted that make sense. That hasn't happened yet. Even if he ends up at Chelsea, it's not on a Roque-level transfer fee, it doesn't make sense. It wouldn't make sense for Palmeiras, they're the ones in a position of strength here.

Him going to Chelsea instead of Barca or Bayern is better for us. Chelsea are like Glazer's Utd post Fergie. Boehly doesn't have a clue how to build a balanced team and they aren't gonna get a Pep/Klopp type coach to save that ship.

RM basically will have Mbappe, Vini, Rodrygo and Endrick for 2 or 3 starting spots in coming years. With Fede, Tchouameni, Camavinga and Bellingham plus maybe Guler and Franco for depth, 4 midfielder starting line up or 4-3-3 with Rodrygo is the question.

Musiala, Yamal, Wirtz will be up there challenging for top 5 in upcoming years. Vini, Bellingham, Mbappe and Haaland are already there in the top 5 imo.

If Musiala , Yamal and Wirtz are on that list i suggest Rodrygo can easily be included

You can include. Someone will lose a starting spot to Mbappe so I am not sure where Rodrygo will be as a player with that kind of competition for a place. He can perform exceptionally in pre-season and force us to change to 4-3-3 too. But others I mentioned are certain starters in their teams.

I'm intrigued, does somebody have a picture on where he could fit in our team? Is this a future Kroos/Modric replacement or a defensive/central midfield player?
