I won’t be surprised if Jesus Fortea won’t get his chance in the future as Carvajal heir. RM bought him from Atletico Madrid in July 2022. He’s 16 years. He considered very highly as future RB

It says 15 in the tweet you quoted and part of me feels like relying on the future of a child is absolutely insane considering how much mileage Carvajal has on that engine.

July 2022 Tweet. Still probably won't be good enough for RM role until he turns 20 even if he's as talented as advertised.

Marca posted an article the other day how the ball is in Madrid's court and how Mbappe's mother is squeezing us for every penny, it gave me the vibe that RM is losing interest.

Twitter reports still say he is coming though, I hope the club comes to their senses and just sees that IF ALL REPORTED IN THE MEDIA OFC IS TRUE, that it is not worth it.

Yeah, yeah, generation player, bla bla.

We get it, but sometimes its not worth it.

Problem is CF market is messed up badly.. BUT if Joselu can do a job for us any good CF should be able to do so.

    No disrespect to Joselu.

We paid over 60 million Euro for Jovic.

Borja Malloral has 15 goals this season and is a goal short of Bellingham.

I would say between Joselu, Borja, and Morata the best substitute strikers this club has had for probably over 10 years have been from the academy.

Bayern apparently had an offer turned down for Rafa Marin.

    Fully agree on both.

Though I feel on Jovic the scouts never properly check him on how he conducts himself outside of the stadium and whats his work ethic is, last couple of years we are going for players with a certain mindset.

Or maybe they did but Jovic could not handle it here.

This is me speculating, not saying its facts or anything.

Rafa, Miguel....they seem to be targeting alot of our academy players who are out on loan or with buybacks.

Didn't they already buy a CB last summer and another one this winter. Is DeLigt leaving or something?

Ligt didn't get to start in 3 CB line up vs Bayer. Tuchel went with Spurs flop Dier. I think I disrespected Walter Samuel and Pique comparing them with Ligt during his Ajax days when I said he's too slow for high RM backline and we don't play possession football like Barca that suited Pique's slowness.

Ligt won't come close to those level even if he has a career resurgence now.

Dier himself is super slow. De Ligt must've pissed Tuchel off. Bayern fans seem to want him to stay and start.

Do you think it was all media and ajax saying what an exceptional leader for his age?
Or do you think its bad career choices?
For example maguire was never 80 million and is an outlier with the bad luck and the whole debacle. But I believe if he played with a low line like atletico play and Leicester used to play he wouldn't be as exposed and would do a very good job.
Might that be the case with de ligt, hasn't found a fit?

Just to clarify I m not advocating for him. Jus wondering

I don't think he's all that great and Bayern paid a pretty penny + high wages for him. At that kind of price you need to be unquestionably world class.

I don't disagree. But if the coach of my team picked Dier who Spurs fans loathed over a better defender I'd be seething. I get why they want Araujo if they want more athleticism for example but Dier is hardly someone who's going to improve them. That's like us buying Inigo Martinez and having him play over Alaba or something similar.

I think people are more intrigued about what they think de Ligt could be than what he actually is.

Leverkusen and Tottenham have allegedly reached out to take Arda on loan. As interesting as it seems, I'm unsure if he'd play a lot there.

Wirtz doesn't occupy all the front line.

Of course, there's also Boniface, but i don't think Arda is that kind of player.

I think Wirtz is the player most similar to Arda there, so he'd most likely be a substitute there as well.

Yeah, not sure it's the best destinations for him. Besides, I'd rather he acclimatises to the LaLiga and the language than going out to a club where he won't start much. You could argue that the Dortmund experience ruined Reiner. Had he gone to say Betis he could've played more and developed into someone that might have made it at RM. He is ruined now and we'll probably be shipped out to some Serie A team for free when his contract is up.
