If it is a matter of priority between signing a young CB or Davies, the priority should always be the CB. Far more important position where we currently lack depth. Miguel is more than capable of taking that LB spot with either Mendy or Fran. I don't think he'll be what he is with Girona today, but he's more than capable of starting here.

I think he meant buy back and sell in the same summer. Morata did stay with the club for a year after he came back from Juve.

If it is Davies vs. Miguel+CB, then the decision should be fairly obvious.

We should sign with purpose not just because FOMO.

We have signed three future star midfield talents to go with the one we have developed. We have spent years grooming two young attackers who have grow and shown they both could have tremendous futures.

    We force fit Mbappe? Fine.

We don't need to force anymore fits. We need to build around this core.

IMO, should be just CB (Yoro).

We would have 7 legitimate players who could play at CB (Militao, Rudigier, Alaba, Nacho, Yoro, Mendy, Carvajal). We woulf also have Tchouameni who could slot back there as well.

Did you see the training just an other day where Mendy played as right back? We could bring Davies or Miguel in and still have Mendy in our squad. Mendy would replace Lord.

Mbappe better thank his lucky stars it's Florentino that's the President of the club.

Anyone else, and the club would probably think of other targets to compliment what the squad already has.

LV starts playing great at RB when his contract is about to expire. Happened in 2020-21 too. :D

    What a coincidence

Kidding aside, he is looking more comfortable at RB but it also helps that the team is playing more compact and Valverde covers a lot of ground on that side.

Someone posted this under a post when LV scored for us to grab the 3 points.

    I almost died lmao

Anyway, LV has done well and is reliable when called upon,HOWEVER..

This is what I would do.

For all the respect I have for Alaba, I would move him on, before his injury he was very shaky.
Invest in a CF/CB/RB if LV leaves or Dani suddenly drops in form.

The way we've been able to handle not having CBs makes me think that in the summer we will probably sign no one in that position.

Would not surprise me at all if Florentino simply focuses on the fact that Militao and Alaba will be back next season in addition to Rudiger and Nacho....and decides that's enough. CB signing decision would be deferred to summer 2025 depending on how next season goes.

Right now, probably Nacho is the most likely to leave, and if he does I'm not sure we will replace him with a 50-60m player who will be behind Militao/Rudiger/Alaba in the pecking order.

If I was a betting man, my money would be on a summer 2024 of Mbappe and Davies only.

Right back only if Lucas leaves.

It would fit our financial management style of the last few years.

    So we shouldn’t sell Rodrygo

IMO if there is one player in the squad which Flo may sell if he will needs some funds in the future, it will be Rodrigo. Especially if Mbappe comes and Endrick will be here from next season.

Alaba won’t go anywhere. No one would be dumb enough to take his wages and I’m sure he’s enjoying being here as well. As long as Carlo is around, he’s going to get chances

I am fairly sure Alaba will also miss the beginning of next year. Unless there is a new update I missed.

So if Nacho stays they will have Rudiger and Militao to start next year, the ghost of Nacho and Alaba sitting in the press box.

If they do not add anyone, be prepared to see Tchouameni playing a lot more minutes at cb.

On the topic of LV, if he does extend one more year... there is a Right Back who will have a year left on his contract in the summer of 2025 and is very familiar with Real Madrid.

Contract until 2026. PSG won't sell as long as he's under contract.

Hakimi earns per season what Vazquez has earned in the last decade or so.

I sincerely disagree, but it's simply too little too late.
