I was tirelessly defending Benzema's role within the team back in the days. Of course, I saw everything bad about him in the days, but I could see why several managers kept him on the squad for many reasons. I was not the argumentative type of posters over here, but I argued with people over him.

I would put Casemiro in Makélélé's place. Casemiro has more games, more titles, Zidane himself talks about the importance of Casemiro bringing balance in the three-peat midfield. I think Makélélé identifies more with Chelsea than with Real.

Hierro also spent some time playing in the midfield. Pirri was a box-to-box midfielder.

Hierro and Sergio Ramos are my duo at CB. Pirri would compete for the #8 role

Yeah I like the thought put into it, just that’s how I would decide ultimately. That’s why Guti almost makes it in there

Just shows how under appreciated the DM role is.

For as good as that starting lineup is going forwards, that midfield is like swiss cheese defensively.

#ÚltimaHora ‼️ Real Madrid has the Haaland route open for 2024.

The whites' priority is Mbappé, but they do not rule out the Norwegian, who continues to dream of playing in white.

    If Madrid do sign Mbappayed.

Madrid would then have arguably 3 of the top LWs in the world :ROFLMAO:.

"The Haaland route" was open when we wined and dined his family on a private jet and he signed for City.

    I'm not buying this nonsense.

Is there a world where City goes trophyless, we offer 200 million for Haaland and he and the club say yes?

Probably not. It just seems too soon for him to leave there.

Mbappe is simply more likely despite all the tumultuous summers we’ve endured. He will have spent 6 years in Paris, he will be a free agent. The conditions are there for a possible move.

The conditions are there for him to chase the money as well.

He is just as likely to move to the PL.

It's safe to say that nobody knows what Mbappe does or will do but the safe bet seems to be him staying at PSG until he demonstrates otherwise.

The Haaland thing is bait. "Real Madrid interested in Haaland" is true, but I'm interested in a position in product management at Microsoft with an 5 digit monthly wage. Doesnt mean either of us is getting what we're interested in.

Agreed about Mbappe. There are rumors circulating in AS and Marca that we’re going to send him an offer on January 1st and he must accept by the 15th or we will move on.

Shit sources sure, but to me I read that as a way of us trying to move on from his transfer while controlling the narrative. We will say we gave him an ultimatum and we stuck to it. We will say we didn’t want to play more transfer games in the summer with him.

Nonetheless, i think it’s more likely than a Haaland move. I can’t imagine him leaving City after just 2 seasons.

They couldn’t even wait till the summer to ramp up all the baseless rumors.

Mbappe leaves me cold and at this point it just doesn’t have the same hook for me. If he comes, meh. If he doesn’t…meh. Haaland is very average on the ball but does put up the numbers. But way too soon for him to leave City, if he leaves at all which I doubt.

I thought Mbappe was already here. I mean, Bob said it was a done deal. Where's he?

In my heart I want Endrick to hit the ground running and score 25+ league goals in his first season just to shut these endless Mbappayed/ Haaland rumours up.

But logic just gets in the way .

I know it's blasphemous, but he made the right decision for himself not to come compete with Benzema for a spot that year, and so did Mbappe in 2017 when we had BBC.

Mbappe has clearly demonstrated that you don't sign with a club like that to leave as you please. You're leaving when they want you to.

Mbappe renewed twice with them, and last summer didn't leave despite them pushing him out. He is there because he wants to be there, and he wants to be there because money > football.

And he snubbed Flo the first time because the club didn't sell Bale :ROFLMAO:

I wonder who it'll be this time? Vini? Rodrygo? Jude?
