    24 hours before all this Mbappe news exploded, we all saw that video of Florentino being asked about Kylian and he said “yes, but not this year”

    There is no way that was a coincidence. What do you guys think was the strategy behind that?

    I think it might stem from some sort of contact he’s had with Mbappe’s mother, but I don’t like it. All this he only wants Madrid is BS imo, this is the guy our transfer strategy revolved around, he was releasing comic books about us then we learn he was negotiating with the likes of Liverpool and Milan last year to drive up the PSG offer which was always the plan.

    It would be amazing for us if it happened but I’ll only believe any of it when I see the Communicado Official.

    I fear we waste a summer on him.

    Just a bit of misdirection lol

    My feeling is that after last summer's fiasco (from a Real Madrid point of view), Florentino laid out a new plan to bring him back under certain conditions and only if Mbappe played ball. I think that's what we're seeing now.

    I mean....if that's not the case why would Mbappe as early as July 2022 just after signing already tell PSG that he would not be renewing.

    If any of what we're hearing is true....Flo's hands have been all over this lol

    Can't trust anything but who these characters have shown us to be... greedy and self-serving.

    The only reason I see Mbappe's mom pulling this card is she legitimately sees Benzema's departure as an opportunity for her son to replace him and be the face of the sport at the biggest club.

    Maybe the Kane rumors put fear in her..

    Maybe she realized that if she plays this game for too long she will get burned and her son will end up hating her when it ends up at Newcastle or Manchester.

    We signed Tchouameni and Bellingham beating oil clubs after Mbappe renewed as well. RM perfectly capable of getting Kane or Osimhen if we make the move and Mbappe knows that would end option of joining RM given finances involved.

    The Benzema departure not only literally makes space for Mbappe in the squad, but also sets up a strong narrative as well. Florentino can say “esto si es mi Mbappe” and reverse all of the animosity that was built up from last summer. He can take the #9 and be our new French striker. There would be no question as to who would be the leader in the locker room. He can push his way out of PSG and genuinely construct a hero narrative when Real Madrid just got battered in the CL.

    I agree Flo’s hands are all over this

    Lol at the 4-0 loss to City "changed everything" notion..no it didn't. Our future is still very much tied to the whims of a moody imbecile and his golddigger mother, even with Benzema gone.

    If we lose out on Mbappe for a 4th time, and that's the default, do you think Levy would accept €90-100mil for Kane late in the market? Will he even sit down for a negotiation that doesn't open the bidding at €100mil? Flo is putting the club in a garbage position year after year to appease this little sh!t. When the F does it end?

    And Camavinga as well, PSG were desperate to sign him too. Both Rudiger and Alaba had bigger offers from other European clubs, and it wouldn't surprise me if PSG and / or City were looking at those two on a free transfer with stupendously high wages.

    EDIT - I was one of the vocal posters on RMBS, questioning the club's pulling power and ability to acquire top talent. But I have to eat humble pie now (and all of it), because there are so many examples, over the last 2 years, of players that we've managed to persuade to join the club.
