If the US (or the UK, for that matter) did that, then they would be little better than the Iraqis. So what would be the point of that?

What source are you kidding me or what? That girl Jessica Lynch, she is pretty lucky other prisoners of war they capture get shot in the head.

Iraqi will not let the red cross look at our prisoners of war. There might not be any US prisoners of war left when this is over.

One of the many, many reasons I never joined the military was my complete unfitness to hold up as a prisoner of war, let alone a POW in the hands of the kind of people Saddam hires. I guarantee you I'd be singing like Frankie Valli before lunchtime.

So there's a large amount of bravery even signing up for the hitch in the first place, let alone troops who I'm certain are facing down torturers as we speak. Let's hope we win in a hurry and get them the hell out of there.
