So, last night my Spanish girlfriend (who refuses to believe US soccer is legit) and I were watching OZ whoop up on England (and I won 10 quid off a halftime bet from a drunk English guy who thought England would come back) and she was shocked at how well OZ did. She thought they would be crap because hey, they aren't European or South American. She said they would easily beat us, which got me to thinking.....................takes awhile..................how would we match up against Australia's first team (I'm not counting the 0-0 friendlies with the B teams)? Viduka and Kewell are a load up top and OZ has more players in Europe than we do (not that that means anything). However, we have a far better domestic league. I think we could win, but it would be close....................thoughts?

    this topic again?! ;)

well, my personal feeling is that their top squad couldn't handle our top squad if it came down to it.

They have two or three guys of note, Kewell comes to mind, but I would argue we have a much better overall team. It would be fun to see our two best lineups go at it, but that probably won't happen anytime soon so...

sorry for the real lack of educated reasoning. I've been enjoying some rum and coke and it impairs my thinking as well as my typing. I had to think real hard and type REAL slow! I don't think I'm doing too badly just yet though. Give me another hour or so. heh heh
