Ultimately, I would love to coach high school boys or girls soccer. I have played pick up and 1 amateur tournament. Should I start with helping grade school soccer coaches to get my feet wet? Please help me so I can fufill a dream of mine to coach this great sport.

All suggestions and opinions are welcome.

Hi, I am a coach in a recreation club. We are affiliated with a state assn. and we in the club got the Director of Coaching to come and hold a clinic. we all got our first license , then this year, I went to a special coach clinic and obtained my E license. I think any local club may help you out with this by contacting them. I also hold a certified referee grade 8 license. I do this to help out the youngsters in our club as I am 68 and have a youngster yet at home that loves the game, wants to play pro someday, so this helps also with him...we obtained a college student just finishing up for his degree and he is now coaching our first ever varsity high school team and is doing real well for our first year.
We have very tough competition, but we have students from 13 countries on our team, most all played soccer in their countries and that helps but most all have their own style so bringing them together was a coach's challange..good luck....gene
