the Auxerre match??? I heard the pitch conditions were sloppy due to the rain. Thanks for your thoughts. Patrick
Didn't see it, but this account says he did well. Wenger played him in the middle instead of on the wing, and I still think that he'll end up there someday, either for Arsenal or for France. http://www.soccerway.com/news/?page=details&area=1035331200
He came on for about the last 20 minutes. What he did, he did well. Not a great deal of service too him, or those he served made use of it. None of them appeared to be able to stand up. Wet pitch, but it's the same for both teams! He took one late tackle, (to be expected), which afterwards, his face appeared to reflect on (being the first of many I presume), but it's not just down to him. He got a great reception both warming up on the line and when he came on. He showed enough that he "will be back" as time goes by.
I am sure he was worried about the leg. When coming back from an injury like this, anyone would be a little hesitant especially about going all out. In the next few months, Pires should be back to his old dominate self...I swear Arsenal is going to be a club of strikers at every position...LOL. Patrick
I didn't see it, but one of the match reports I read said he took a wicked shot that the keeper had trouble controlling.
