Probably the worst player on the field.

He was not remarkable, to put it lightly. Almost invisible to be more accurate.

    Good Laugh

Actually the best laugh in the game was when he stepped on the ball and fell, losing what would had been the tying goal.

    Lisi...

from watching the game from DC, i thought that Lisi did a hell of a lot better then jeff moore would have done...he moved the ball well...he created a few chances...he played simple and that's his game....i thought he played well...i think that petke and diallo were pathetic tonight.

    thanks

Lisi was very consistent and played his game. He made three excellent crossing passes and defended consistently. His only error was misstepping on the ball when receiving a pass in the first half.

I have to laugh at the morons in this thread who pick on Lisi for the problems of the team. Why not foucs on the real shortcomings?

    (1) A coach who is an idiot. Who else would fail to start Andy Williams against DC last week in a must-win game?

    (2) A group of forwards that need psychotherapy and a rubber-walled room. Lisi didn't turn Clint into an unbalanced arrogant egotist and he didn't make Diallo into a prima donna or make Faria become the invisible man.

    (3) Some of the worst man-marking onthe back line I have ever seen. Petke and Jolley ought to get to know each other back there and try covering wide-open forwards.

Lisi is fine. It isn't his fault he is stuck on a team with a bad coach, a dysfunctional team and a fan base looking for a goat!!

i think lisi is a great player he plays very simple and he is a great passer the only problem he has is coaches, rongen was smart and started to develop him very good with dc then comes hudson who changes everything around out there and trades lisi and then zambrano who thinks jeff moore is better than lisi, moore is nothing more than a d3 player...but what i am trying to say is lisi will be your guys savior one day and i think zambrano, faria, moore, petke, and chrono are your problems

    Whoever you are:

Mark Lisi is an MLS journeyman with some decent skills but little pace. He looked good at times for DC in 2001, but disappeared at other times, and actually saw quite a bit of the bench under Rongen.

Maybe he would show a bit more if the Metros worked combination play and one-touch passing a bit more. But he hasn't ever done anything really memorable for the Metros-- a scrappy goal, a few nice runs, and a lot of nothing.

Whether or not Mark Lisi stays is immaterial to the Metros chances next year. Getting a new coaching staff is much more important, and getting more productivity out of clearly talented players is another.

journeyman? quiet a bit of bench time? hes in his second year with only his second team and hes only 24, as for bench time he appeared in like 25 games and started 22 leading the team in apperances...youre just plain stupid

Honestly, you've shown very little. I'm sure your US National Team fantasy camp in 2001 was a real gas, and you've got some tidy ball skills, but you don't seem to have enough vision to really cut it as a regular.

I'm glad you led the worst team in the league in appearances. I bet that will look really good on your resume when you apply for a high school coaching vacancy next year.

    Send us a postcard.

This is probably off topic, but Lisi was probably the first guy to come over to our section, to shake our hands. I dont know what he said to you guys but when he came to me, he shook my hand and said "Thank you very much for coming." I thought it was very classy of him.
I thought it was cool of them to come over and shake our hands.
It makes me feel like sitting in a bus full of drunk people for 4 hours was worth the trip.
At least it showed they appreciated us coming down.

The most unathletic, clumsy, slowest young player in MLS. Painful to watch.

Why is everyone always so down on Lisi? He's a solid player who's seen way to much of the bench this season. You can't really expect him to do all that much in the last 10 minutes of a game..which is all he seems to see these days.

Saturday was one of the very few games that he started as a Metrostar. He has real talent but it's being wasted on the bench. I have a bad feeling that we will never know what he is really capable of, because the front office is too quick to trade.

The hell are you talking about? I'll stand by the journeyman and benchwarmer comments, and I don't rate him as much of a player.

Only Mark, his friends, and DC fans who think anyone who plays for them is in line to play for the USA think he's worthwhile.

Nice ball skills, no speed, no vision. I'll eat my words when I see him make a mark on a game.

He made a mark on the game Saturday.

He tried to tackle Twellman just outside the box and missed completely which led to the Petke foul and PK. That set the tone for the game. He should have never been on the field.

That was another problem for the Metro this season: the young guys either not knowing when or not knowing how to make the professional foul.

Not being a professional seems to run amuck in East Rutherford don't it?

From Nick to my sales rep and every sucking flunky who grooms his hair like Sacko in between, its far from professional.

Don't blame Lisi and the other young guys thrown out there. Blame Nick and Zambrano for putting them out there and doing little to help them. They suck.
